If everyone stops smoking the government will just raise taxes somewhere else to make up for the revenue.

They are already trying to tax soda....and this is only the beginning. It is "for their own good" though...so this makes it right.

Under the upcoming treaty regarding global warming...meats would likely be taxed as well...since "big meat" is now known to be the number one source of (eehhh hheeemmm) global warming.

Just imagine the savings! It certainly would cut down on the number of fat people..reduce cancers across the board...produce revenue...and save the earth all at the same time.

First they came for the smokers...

Yea, taxes are great. As long as they don't apply to you!

Not to worry/-NOT- They have presses running 24-7, printing fresh new bills to keep the cash flow going. I'm talking new(funny) money, not replacement bills...>;~(

this is hard to resist posting. The pictures of the bills with prez's pic won't show up though

Where to put Obama's picture

George Washington, our nation's first president and leader of the American Revolution!

Abe Lincoln, honorable leader pulled our nation through its darkest time!

Alexander Hamilton, founding father, first secretary of treasury and leader of the constitutional convention!

Andrew Jackson, "Old Hickory " fought the British in New Orleans .

Ulysses Grant, Union army general, lead the North through the Civil War!

Ben Franklin, Genius inventor, political theorist and leading author of the constitution.

Finally, we have someone to put on the food stamp!

More people will see it here than any other place ....so it is appropriate.

Look at it this way. Cigarettes have made you a slave. Most smokers have to plan where and when they can go and do things to make sure they will get a chance for a smoke. They can't take a plane or train trip without a problem. Infact there is little they can do that dosen't interfer with their addiction. If it were I , I would be so mad at the tobacco cos and their damn cigarettes I would put my last unopened pack on the dash of my car and cuss the hell out of it and the Tobacco Cos. every time i saw it. I'd get MAD a letting myself become a slave to them. You might even find getting MAD may be a good thing. >;~\

One helpful tip is to think of all the wonderful things you can buy once you quit buying cigarettes.

How do you think we afforded 7 telescopes? Hubby and I quit together over 6 years ago now. He used the nicotine gum and stopped that after 2 days. I had a bit harder time, in that I had to go through the all three steps of the nicotine patch.

It's also rather slow. Do it right and save money. Buy yourself a Lugar and do it today, but please do it outside as it's rather messy.

Daily Horoscope for December 18

Aries

You'll be in a better position to get on well with someone who has power or authority over you. This might be your boss, some other authority figure, a friend you really respect or an older relative. Maybe you should chat up your superiors at the office Christmas party... or make more of an effort to understand what makes a certain person tick.
