Ladies, you can all have the Kentucky Bourbon as long as you leave the Gentleman Jack for me.

Gentleman Jack was actually aimed at the Women's market because it is so soft and easy to approach.

I recommend a bit more robust bourbon or whiskey...whenever you decide to take the training wheels off.

Enjoy!

My preference is for Glenlivet single malt, thanks. Just not partial to bourbon.

Sounds like you stick with the Big Names in whiskies. The Big Names are the big names because of the money they spend on advertising. Not, because they are the best tasting.

I like to recommend that folks try something that they have never seen an ad for. That way...they are spending their money strictly on the product, not the advertising budget.

If you want some other bourbons to try:

Soft and Smooth= Four Roses Yellow Label, Old Charter
Rich and Tasty= 1792 Ridgemont Reserve, Four Roses Small Batch
Thick and Spicey= Wild Turkey Rye 101, Four Roses Single Barrel

I would also recommend trying Balvenie Double Wood, Tamdhu 10yr, and Famouse Grouse "Gold Reserve" 12yr. The Gold Reserve is a 50/50 blend of Highland Park 12 and Macallen 12, Single Malts. for $25

Most of these options I have listed are very, very affordible.

You're right there, the Glenlivet is for special occasions. I never liked Johnny Walker Red or Black, sometimes will drink Hennessy Cognac, not often. Dewar's is ok, but that's expensive too. Never heard of the Gold Reserve, maybe will try it.
Actually, it's mostly beer, with only occasional forays into the scotch and cognac section.
