I find that drinking an herbal laxative tea like Manasul Tea is a better alternative than taking laxatives in pill form. The effect is much more immediate since I guess the liquid is dissolved into the body quicker. Does anyone know of a place either physical or online where you can buy the following ingredients mentioned in the article to make your own?
3 tablespoons senna leaves, 2 tablespoons elder flowers, 1 tablespoon fennel seeds and half a teaspoon of anise seeds

I'd be careful about taking senna on a regular basis. It is extremely habit forming and can have serious side effects if taken long term. A good alternative is papaya leaf tea, which is very effective for constipation, but has no known side effects and therefore can be taken daily.
