Here is the delicious Prickly Pear Margarita Recipe:
Ingredients:
2 1/2 oz Voodoo Tiki Desert Rose Tequila
1/2 oz triple sec
2 oz sour mix
1/2 oz orange juice
dash of grenadine to color
sugar coated lime wheel for garnish
salt or sugar for rimming
Preparation:
Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake well.
Strain into a chilled margarita glass with a sugar or salt rim.
Garnish with a sugar coated lime wheel.

Hey Cocktailian- I agree this is a great one! Have you tried their other cocktails using Desert Rose-unbelievable.

Thanks, Cocktailian, but that is not a prickly pear margarita. The authentic one is so named because it it made with bright red prickly pear (aka cactus pear.) No grenadine (yuck) required! Also no sour mix. Just pure agave tequila and lime juice, with a splash of triple sec or grand marnier.

Canyon does it best.

Hi! Yes, the prickly pear margarita at the Canyon in Ft. Lauderdale is amazing! You can make them several ways it seems as there are several prickly pear mixes out there as well as prickly pear infused tequila. Sorry I am not more help but I had to agree with you on the Canyon's Prickly Pear Margarita...It doesn't get any better!^^
