Anonymous,

Sorry friend, but Starbuck's is the McDonald's of the coffee world.

Baci has a latte with coffee roasted THAT week.
... a free wireless internet connection with purchase
... background music that is live music in the evening.
... news papers, local community magazines..(who goes to a coffee shop for the newspaper?)

Baci also has a local owner that is certainly glad to see you everytime you walk through the door.

Also, the dollars will be kept local, so you get multiple tax revenue transactions from the same dollar.

Starbucks is better than Baci's by a longshot.
Starbucks has latte, background music and NY Times.
What does Baci's have to match Starbucks?

Rrags is just down from Nations and Basking Robbins in the same mini center, on the coner of 2nd St. and Milirary.

Rrags has better coffee, better prices, and friendly folks. Support Rrags and make sure that when Starbucks id gone, there will still be a place to get Great Coffeee in Benicia.

Sam, your city is bankrupt -- go volunteer to do something decent for your community.

I address you because you are a retard. You do nothing but damage what is left of Vallejo. Everything you stand for does nothing to help Vallejo.
You disgust me.

FDRs GOP detractors called him Marxist too when he started the WPA and a dozen or so other programs to put people to work in the Depression-- and simulatoneously built bridges, libraries, schools, roads). Imagine standing in the way of opportunity for a guy to make some money to keep his family fed.

Amazingly Ned sees this message as Marxist. I guess you don't much care about this country if you denigrate this voice of hope for our troubled nation. Perhaps you're on of the few still enamored with George Bush and look forward to four more years of the same c r a p brought to you by another old man from the last generation. It is time for new leadership in America.
With regard to coffee, I'm fond of the original rather than the imitation. There are a couple of Peet's coffee shops in Marin that make mighty fine coffee. Starbuck's founders learned how to roast coffee at Peet's home in Berkeley then took the business nationally. Peet's has added a few stores but they haven't attempted to conquer the planet. I'm content.
