One of your better columns, Mr. Burkhart. Coctails such as Manhattans and Martinis should be made as God intended -- no gimmicks at all. One might switch the proportions a bit, or go with some new, fancy bitters but you don't put chocolate, apple-flavoring or anything else in a stem and call it a Martini...

In fact, dammit, just give me some Rye on the rocks...
