El chuco was what I called it in the early 50s ane I remember going to the park and feed the aligators. MI tio lived on Cotton and we wnet yo Juares to drink beer and see las viejas. Lone Star and Falstaff was the beer, and my nickk name was Ganzo. I wore khakies and stacies and a tapita. I had a 53 Chivy with fender skirts and a string across the sunvisors that had animals that we used to get ay dairy queen. That is old times and you just can't get forget them, because mi Ruca was from those times as well

My father told a story of once taking the alligators from downtown and letting them lose. He would laugh about it when he told it. Wish he was alive to tell it to me again.

Can you remember when Chicos Tacos was in a military hut?

The hamburgers were the best not to mention the hotdogs.

I remember crossing the bridge every weekend in the early 70's, Paying my 2cents, then gettin rolled by a Juarez cop for 5o bucks that was in my wallet. took me awhile but i got smart. would leave couple of bucks in my wallet and the rest in my sock. Loved curleys club and the 4 dollar rooms I used to get. I remember a small corner eatery down the street from curleys, they had the best burgers and buritos. Zarrapes was another place I used to hang out. I remember one taxi driver would warn me "his nickname was(Mustache)" when my bell hops (cops), were looking for my dumb ass. Had alot of girl friends down there, looking out for me. They used to come bail my butt outa the jail for 15 bucks. lmao those were some good times!!

I lived in Juarez from 60-65. I remember living in La Colonia Hidalgo and taking the trambia to El Chuco or the walking across on the Puente Libre on the Escalators as a little boy when we would visit my granma in El Segundo Barrio on 5th. st.(she lived and died there for over 40 years 59-01) I remember El Parque De Los Lagartos down town when they had real Aligators for the people to enjoy. I remember my dad taking me to Ascarate park when thy were building the Juegitos there.

This week I visited Washington Park with my girlfriend and we shared memories of the past. Next weekend we plan to have a picnic at Ascarate Lake. I plan to do some scub diving and hope to find me a few fish to bbq on the grill.
