I have a 1969 bottle of CHIANTI Gori Gori vino (which are the only words i can understand because the label is in Italian). It has never been opened but has started to seep from the top because the bottle is in the shaped of a bunch of grapes and has to lay on its side. I think it would be a litre or just over in size. Could anyone give me some feedback on it please.

sounds like your cork has gone bad. It might be time to decant the contents into another container. Use a nitrogen can to fill the air space in the new bottle...then, seal with a new cork. The contents should stay good till you decide to open and enjoy your bottle.
Good luck.
ps you could try a taste before resealing the contents...just to make certain that you haven't been holding on to a nice bottle of vinegar.

As a vintage spirits appraiser by trade, I can tell you that it all depends alot on the condition of the bottle & labels, and most importantly on the fill-level & clarity of the contents. I have several bottles of Old Forester in my collection...The Spring date is when they distilled it - What is the Fall date? If you want to forward a few clear photos to me directly at wchurst@hotmail.com, I can get you an estimated value on them. Cheers, Walter C Hurst

I have a full 1/10 pint bottle of Haig & Haig blended Scots Whiskey with a sticker saying State of Wisconsin occupational tax on intoxicating liquors 3-1/8 cents treasury dept beverage tax division. It also has the seal owner the top for Renfield Importers Ltd. New York, NY. It has not been opened. I'm guessing per-1950 since it was with a bottle that stated per may 1, 1934. Any value or worth opening?? Judygbass@gmail.com. Thank you

Otis, I'd estimate the value of your bottles at $250 each if they are in very good condition. Otis Massengill wrote: I have 3 unopened bottles of 1974 Boonsfarm Strawberry Hill and was wondering what they are worth...

Value? Blended Scotches aren't worth much more than current value. You could probably expect to get about 20% extra from the current prices. Which would put your bottle in the $30-40 range. Blended products are meant and intended to taste the exact same...your after year after year. So, therefor, your bottle won't be all that different than current offerings. Sorry for the bad news...but, BLENDED products just don't have that big a following. If you had a Single Malt...that would be much more interesting to a prospective buyer. Give it to a friend, drink it yourself, or pass it down to a relative...but, don't expect to make much money off of Black & White. If you don't believe me...call your local liqour distributer...and ask them how many cases of blended Scotch they are sitting on(then multiply that number by every distributer in the US). It will blow your mind when you find out the numbers.

Hi, I have a bottle of Old Forester Whiskey, never opened still sealed. The label is in excellent condition and still full to just below the shoulder, the clarity seems excellent. The bottle dates "Made Spring 1917 Bottled 1933". I guess a Prohibition Bottle. It has been stored in a basement as since the 60's. Any idea on value or where I can get more information?

I was given an unopened and sealed decanter of Heather Dew Scotch Whiskey. I know they stopped producing it around 1942. My friends want me to open it, but I have second thoughts. Does anyone know if this Scotch is of any value or where I can find out. Thanks for any help..
