Another business leaving Lenoir City?
#2 Jul 9, 2013
This what happens when the good people of Lenoir City don't support local businesses. Bunch of closet drunk morons.

The people of Lenoir City cannot legally buy anything from Eagle Distributing.
They wholesale beer to groceries and convenience stores. They are not allowed to retail it to consumers. The Eagle Distributing driver who sells you a case of Bud straight off the truck will go to jail if caught.
Now make another stupid statement.

Your the moron. Didn't say anything about who the beer was sold to. And by the way dick head, Loudon County will loose that wholesale tax.

The businesses buying wholesale goods have a form from the county clerks off posted on the wall in their store. By law it must be posted, and is usually behind the register or in an office area.
On that form is a tax exempt number issued by the state. They pay no sales tax on wholesale purchases.
There is no wholesale tax. There is only the retail sales tax.
As to your previous claim that the good people of Lenoir City not supporting Eagle Distributing drove them out - the groceries and convenience stores in Lenoir City are very good about supporting Eagle. Possibly the only such business that is not their customer is Bimbo's, since they do not buy and retail beer.
Moreover, I predict that after Eagle has moved to their new Knox County location their trucks will continue to come sell to the stores in Loudon County. If the store has Busch, Bud, Michelob and Yuengling then they bought it from Eagle.

Wholesale Tax dumb ass not sales tax.
County or City Permit Required
[Tenn. Code Ann. Section 57-5-103]
It is unlawful, under the authority delegated by state law to counties and cities, to operate any business engaged in the sale, distribution, manufacture, or storage of beer without a permit issued by the county or city where that business is located. Permits will be issued to the owner of the business, whether a person, firm, corporation, joint-stock company, syndicate, or association.
