Over $300K just to refurbish each car. That doesn't cover the engines or other infrastructure. The cost per passenger mile has to be incredible. Would you rather buy people a car or pay for a cab? No. So we do this and it looks good on paper to have a transportation system.

Maybe we can score a Sandy flood car. I thought it was strange that Trumbull and Boulevard Towing from Detroit was sending five flatbeds and drivers to help tow vehicles from the hurricane area. What would prompt such benevolence from a company suspected of corruption? Turns out that they will be able to KEEP what they tow. So they will probably pick up new or newer vehicles. They stand to make a large profit.
Wish I had a free flood car to rehab.
