I thought Sonny was corny from the beginning. Like many comedians, he would repeat the jokes endlessly. The jokes about Engadine in the UP were a staple. People knew where Engadine was. Sonny became a comfortable fixture on our TVs, B&W and then color. I figured he would live to 100. I did not know Helen Miliken was alive. Now I'm more shocked to discover that Bill Miliken still is alive!!

Also, it's coming out that Sonny was a great fan of the raunchier type of humor too. He wrote his own and circulated much more. Nobody wanted to besmirch his image while he was alive, not that knowing this would have done anything but enhance it with many including me.
