Snyder said the state would take the deal off the table if it were not voted on this week at the latest. Detroit has put any vote off beyond this week for more study. I believe they want Snyder to take the deal back so they won't have to vote no. But maybe Snyder was lying about his statement and will make them vote. I believe they will vote against it.

I was wrong on the timing, but the outcome was the same. Snyder must have figured they were not going to approve it based on yesterday's meeting so why dink around another month waiting?

Mayor Archer tried to get the ball moving on developing the waterfront by having casinos and council would not allow it. The management of Detroit can't get out of their own way. One reason they were 6:3 against the state park on Belle Isle is because they were not going to receive any of the $11 state park fees. They wanted the park maintained to state standards plus receive a payment!
