He gets to know that his actions killed his wife.I'm not sure if they had children or not but if they did he also gets to tell his children how and why their mother is dead.

I think that's enough.

Granted that Shawna Nelson was poorly coached by her defense team and came across as an arrogant excuse for a human being, what about Ignacio Garraus? This lying bastard cheated on his wife , she is dead, and he walks?

There is something wrong with this picture.

Although I agree he is a lying bastard, and his actions are most certainly morally wrong, what crime did he commit? I'm not sure what you would expect him to be charged with. He's certainly going to have to live with the consequences of his deceit. I guess that's going to have to be enough.

Yes, he is a lying bastard, it's not like he told her to kill his wife, he broke it off with her. She was jaded, people don't think when they have affairs that the person they are having the affair with would kill their significant other.

Adultery. It is still listed, but seldom enforced, as an actual crime. Also an accessory before/after the fact, in a homocide, is a possibility. This was a card that her lawyers' did not play. I wonder why?

Which significant other? This man had more than one significant other and may have more as I type.

Where does the blame and punishment go?

The blame and punishment went where it was supposed to, Shawna is the one that pulled the trigger not Ignacio those are the facts. He most likely is everything that eveyone has mentioned but has broken no laws other than adultry.

Never once was there anything saying that this man hinted that he wanted his wife killed. In all the drama that came out in the trial never once did they say he was involved in the killing. He broke it off with Shawna and she couldn't handle it.Shawna killed his wife in cold blood and she is getting what she deserves.

Ignacio had an affair and he is wrong for having one.I don't see how he can be blamed for anything. There is no way he could have known Shawna was going to do what she did.

Like I said he has to live with his actions for the rest of his life.

And he will, although as guilty as Shawna, live free. Nick give me a break.

Close to home?

You can't deport an American citizen. He might not be the best dad in the world, but he's all that little girl has left. I can say that he may have cheated on her, but having his wife killed was the last thing on Ignacio's mind. He knew what a devoted mother she was to their daughter. He'd never have taken that away.
I am just glad that justice prevailed today. Good luck to Ignacio raising his daughter and living with the events that led up to his wife's death. God will judge him someday. He better spend his life devoting himself to his daughter and trying to make up for all of the hardship he caused her.

Maybe I've got the players in this saga confused, but didn't Ignacio Garraus conceal the murder weapon (allegedly)?

I didn't follow the trial very closely, but was Shawna's sole defense that she "blacked out" or couldn't remember what happened? Maybe the defense team was going to try for an insanity plea and changed their mind?
