I know this guy and I know he worked a the King Soopers 2 miles from where he molested at LEAST 2 babies. Is that right? That the victims, and possible other victims, might walk into their local store and see him?? Don't you think that would be traumatizing? I absolutley think these offenders need a job, but not in a place where MINORS work, and at a store so close to where the crimes took place. He obviously wasn't monitored at home or at work. His managers didn't know he was a registered sex offender, so how was he being monitored on lunch breaks, bathroom breaks? It's not as if it has been 10 years since he did this, and he's had time to rehabilitate. From what I understand from this story, it's been 2 years or less.
I can't believe there are people that are criticizing Fox for this story. If my kid was a victim there is no way I'd want him working at a local store- behind a counter or not. Yes, he was a minor (17) but still a REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER which is public record.

WTF!!! How the HELL , as parents , are we supposed to protect our children when the system they have doesn't work? This is pathetic. You can guarantee this isn't just a King Soopers problem. Educate your children on people and red flags. It sucks we have to teach them to live in fear and view people with a skeptical eye.

Oh for Pete's sake. King Soopers isn't a day care center. It's a public place. They have camaras. There are always people around. Where would you rather have him work? When I took my kid to the store I watched him. I watched him every minute. When he was in the age group that this guy molested he was in a cart. It is up to us to keep an eye on our kids. Even if King Soopers had access to the criminal records of minors, which they don't, how do you expect King Soopers or any other public place to screen their customers? Wouldn't the stranger pushing a cart through the store be more of a threat than the guy behind the deli counter?

I hate to tell you this parents, but all child molesters eat. Yup, every single one of them. They all shop at the grocery store. It's not up to King Soopers to watch your kids. It's up to you. Quit whining and start parenting.

I agree, this kid did something horrible - but he's ALLOWED to have a job! Since when is working at deli a job that puts you in contact with kids?

This lady really jumped the gun and overreacted. If it's not in jail it's GOOD for him to be working - off the streets & off welfare. Very stupid of her AND King Soopers.

Who do you think you're fooling? The restrooms at King Soopers are one person at a time restrooms. If there's someone already in there don't send him in.

If you are at a store that has more than one stall take him to the ladies room with you whether he likes it or not. Who's in charge at your house? The six year old or the parent?

Better yet, since you don't know what kind of cooties the last guy in there had, make him go before you leave the house. I can recall only having to take my kid to the bathroom at the grocery store once.

Common sense sure isn't very common these days.

ok the cirmial is a pig. But dose not he also have a right ot work for a living, ok the kid he messed up for life i feel sorry for, but as a cristan should we not turn the other cheek and give him a chance to redeem himself for what he had done as a kid? it is not like he was working in day care. to some extent i could live with castrating him and leting him work then too, but then i would be a nazi right. so were is the answer to the delema, let him work for anothe king's in colorado were nobody knows him oh yeah his fase was on tv so i gess that the taxpayers will pay for him the rest of his life. thanks to freedom of the press. maybe we could have the press put out a story on what the Govt. plans to do to a spasific teror org. before hand. i think someone jummped the gun on this one, like the mother who could not let a internal quest get done and maybe a solution were everybody could live with be found.

US Dept of Justice report on 9,691 sex offenders found 5.3% of all, and 5.1% of child molesters committed a subsequent sex crime within three years of their release from prison. Other studies consistently show some 2/3 of lifetime recidivism occurs during that time frame. USDOJ reports that 93% of all sex crimes against children are committed by family(34%) or acquaintances(59%). New York reports that over twenty years, more than 95% of those arrested for sex crimes were first time offenders. Another finding that is consistently verified is that unstable employment or lack of employment is a primary factor leading to recidivism for all crimes, not just sex crimes. You are making life more unsafe for your children hounding this guy out of his job.

I can't believe that some of the people leaving comments did't really listen to the tv report. This person was not only working in the deli, but in different parts of the store where there are small children with mothers and wander away from their parents. so please remember he wasn't just working in the deli.

Perfect, madmadmad. You beat me to it.

Now this guy is blackballed, publically humiliated, jobless, and angry. Not saying he doesn't deserve it, but how does that help things? What next, if he figures that no matter what he does he loses? Why NOT reach for the lowest common denominator- what does he have to lose? You didn't get rid of the animal- you just let it out of the cage.

No, you remember to watch your kids. Does King Soopers screen their customers? Do perverts eat groceries? Doesn't have to be an employee. It can be a customer. WATCH YOUR KIDS! IT'S YOUR JOB!
