I've spoken to about 50 people this afternoon & am finally putting the pieces together.
Everyone who has out of state friends & relatives has told me that the out of staters got tickets. I'm not talking about 1 block of 4...I'm talking 2-3 blocks for all 3 games. Successful buyers in town are few & far between to say the least(and that's a gross understatement) It's all one big scam. Tourism is huge here, and out of towners who fly in, fill up hotel rooms & eat out obviously pump much more $$$ into the local economy than the locals who go to the game & then go home. This explains why they were so dead set on not selling any tickets from the Coors ticket windows. Nothing but one big F job & it's all about the benjamins. Nice scam p.s. There's already a rumor going about a Saturday night "protest" riot. If this ticket sales theory spreads as much as it appears to be, don't be surprised if downtown Denver looks like the San Diego foothills late Saturday night. The next couple of days ought to be interesting-especially if a local media outlet runs with this theory(they seem to already calling bullshit on the Monday DDoS claim). |

“Only 30 chrctrs fr a hdline??!” Since: Oct 07
ISP: Colorado Springs, CO |
That's a very interesting take on what happened and I wouldn't doubt it's true one bit. I hope somebody gets busted for this, complete BS. |

For what its worth...and I am not disagreeing nor agreeing with this...I live in Colorado and tried buying tickets from both a computer here in Denver, I also logged into my moms computer in Arizona and logged into my aunts computer in Florida. From ALL locations I never got ANYTHING (3 hours worth of clicking links) other than the 120 second window. Also, I'd be willing to bet that most out of state sales are now being resold online for more benji's...so thinking this would attract tourism would have been a bad gamble????? It sure would be interesting to know how many Colorado fans got tickets. Something fishy went on...not sure this was it though. On the bright side...if they keep this team together...we'll be back here!!! Go Rockies!

I don’t buy into conspiracy theory but I will say this,
(ISIOISIA) I Said It Once, I'll Say It Again. Don't buy them from online ticket brokers. They will be forced to go down town and cut their losses for the online transaction fee. If they try to scalp them for a higher price, they will risk losing all their tickets and being hauled off to Jail. Offer them face value and if they don't sell at face value, turn them in and the other scalpers will then see how real it is for them to lose it all. They will then cut their loses and sell at face value. They won't be around Coor's Field; they'll be in all the Bars in LoDo starting about Friday night, all day Saturday, Sunday and so on. Like you guy's I tried buying on line, and I think I would have had a better chance of winning the Powerball jackpot. So, here's a message to all you scalpers. Before you decide to go to work for these online ticket brokers, think about this. I, my wife, my parents, my in-laws, and about 70 other people that we personally know will be all over LoDo with hidden cam and mic looking to buy tickets, and if you try to sell them to us at a penny above face value, we're turning you in, and we’ll put you on “Youtube” for the world to see. BTW, we'll be dressed as tourist anxious to buy tickets, or will we? FYI, I haven’t confirmed this yet but I heard that in light of the ticket debacle, one of the big networks is doing an undercover story on ticket scalpers, good luck ticket scalpers; maybe we’ll see you on TV. Go Rox! |

I wonder if the online ticket broker’s servers are being overloaded and experiencing the same problem Paciolan experienced on Monday.
If so, they may not be able to unload all their tickets and be forced to hit the streets with remaining tickets in hand and take their chances. Just a thought. |

I got 2 sets of 4 of the $100 tickets.
Ebay here I come!!! Very nice way to turn $800 into who knows how much. Already $2300 for the 1st set & $1700 for the second. Ends in 2 days. Sports fans are such suckers. I am glad there are plenty of desperate rich ones!! There is nothing wrong with scalping. It is pure capitalism at its best. I have something that is high in demand & willing to sell at a market price set by demand. |

I'm a Capitalist my self. But I doubt very seriously you have any tickets, even to the opera. I just googled World Series tickets, counted the ticket available on each site and from the looks of it, the online ticket brokers secured most of the ticket that went on sale today. But hey thanks for playing. |

I didnt attempt to buy tickets but I do know someone who did get 2 sets and did so purely to sell them at a profit. People did it and will get a lot of money for them. Craigslist is FULL of people selling them already.

the people (probably mostly scalpers/'brokers' who make money by gaming the system) who realized that if you 'view source' of the 120 second 'waiting' page' you could get the 'real' page address, paste it into a browser, and 'refresh' until you get in (no 120-second wait times)
... are the ones who got tickets. that 2-minute delay just screwed anyone who wasn't in on the trick. paciolan == duh!!!! I don't know if that 2-minute delay was there on day 1, or if that's something they threw in there to try to keep things from crashing by slowing down requests...but it was not implemented by a real programmer that's for sure. |

Wow, so Yankees allowed their players to buy significant alotments of World Series tickets in the 500 to 1000 ranger per player, only to discover that 90% of these tickets were resold to the public through StubHub. Avg price of StubHub tix to Game 6 was 500% above Game2 avg price Shouldn't the MLB require complete disclosure that many of these tickets are being resold illegally, with the players pocketing the profits?
