Bob and Gregg Vanourek have won the 2013 International Book Awards (“Business: General” category) for their book, Triple Crown Leadership: Building Excellent, Ethical, and Enduring Organizations (published by McGraw-Hill). Bob Vanourek lives in Cordillera, Colorado, and Gregg Vanourek used to live in Thornton, Colorado. Bob and Gregg are father and son.

USA Book News runs the International Book Awards and the USA Best Book Awards. Triple Crown Leadership was also an award-winning finalist in the 2012 USA Best Book Awards in the business: management and leadership category. This is one of the largest mainstream book award competitions in the U.S. Over 1,000 books published in 2012 and 2013 were submitted worldwide to be evaluated by distinguished panels of industry judges.

Triple Crown Leadership was co-authored by Bob and Gregg Vanourek, based on their extensive leadership experience and interviews with leaders in 61 organizations in 11 countries. The Vanoureks developed the five critical leadership practices necessary to build excellent, ethical, and enduring organizations. Triple Crown Leadership goes further to describe why some organizations break down and how the five practices can be adapted for startups, turnarounds, and social impact organizations (including nonprofits).

The late Stephen R. Covey and his son, Stephen M. R. Covey, wrote the Foreword to the book. Endorsements for Triple Crown leadership have come from noted authors and leadership experts like Daniel Pink, Richard Leider, Bill George, James O’Toole, Marty Linsky, Barry Posner, David Gergen, and Frances Hesselbein.

Organizations cited in Triple Crown Leadership include Ashoka, CH2M Hill (and their monumental clean-up effort at Rocky Flats), Clif Bar, eBay, GE, Google, Habitat for Humanity, Mayo Clinic, Medtronic, Perkins School for the Blind, Princeton, Toyota, Tyco, University of Denver, Vanguard, Xerox, and Zappos.com among others.

The Vanoureks are available for speaking engagements and leadership workshops.
