I think it was a sarcastic and rhetorical question.
In any case, I don't know that you'll find any answers on topix. The thing with this case is it has been highly publicized, and people on topix seem to be generally up-to-date on the news especially with happenings in our own country. The fact that this case is nearly five years old, has been all over various media outlets, and nobody has come forward leads me to believe that either nobody knows who this man is or those who do know do not wish to come forward.
It's very likely he isn't from Denver at all. His memories could be from a vacation here. Perhaps he had family in the area at one time. He's not on a missing persons list, which means he didn't go missing from a job nor were there any friends or relatives left behind when he "vanished." That, or those friends or relatives did not report him missing because they didn't care that he was missing. It sounds like you're putting a lot of energy into this, so I'm sure this isn't what you want to hear. But if anyone cared that this man was missing, he would have been reported as missing at some point. That's just my guess and you can take it or leave it.
You are right. So may people think somebody is actually missing him. Not all people in the world have family or friends.
I have an uncle I know very little about except that he has moved around the country alot. We hear things about him about every five years or so. I've always wondered about him and why his brothers never have really cared about where he is or what he is doing. I tried to bring it up to my father a few times, but he doesn't seem interested. I guess there are some hard feelings remaining from the past.

My point is, maybe this man has nobody who cares about him and nobody has reported him missing. I know it sounds horrible, but not all families are close to each other.

Yes, Jaguar1973, this is highly possible. I have the same situation in my family. We are hoping in BK's case that a neighbor, coworker will recognize him. I know some people my not want to contact the FBI, but if they leave a name hear, I can investgate it further. The only thing I can think of is, getting his face out in the public for people to see it. Dr. Phil did a great job, but lots of people don't watch him. Some local news medias have picked up on the story, but I watch the news about as often as everyone else, 3-4 times a week. So the campaign to get his face in the public needs to continue for a while, different medias, hopefully different audiences. Thanks for the reply

I may have accidentally tripped over a lead tonight. Does anyone have an email address for this Bill Kirkconnell fellow? I can't seem to locate one and I have an odd schedule, so I'd rather converse via email than call.

Sorry Tirzhaz, I call him when needed. Please call the number anytime, when he is not in his office, he does have a voice mail.

Well, I haven't found an email address for the guy working the case, but I thought I might have found a possible answer, however unlikely it may be!

This may sound weird, but in March 2003 (almost a year and a half before Benjamin Kyle was found) there was a man that tried to commit suicide by swimming off the edge of the Niagara Falls. Before he got to the edge he realized he didn't want to die and wedged his foot into a rock and an hours long rescue effort ensued. He survived. He wanted to kill himself because he had lost thousands that day at a casino. This was money he had borrowed from his father. He was also already $600K in debt and had nothing left. I was watching a video of the rescue on one of the Discovery networks. The man didn't look like Benjamin Kyle at all and I had completely forgotten about this thread until the end when they showed him laying in a stretcher and I caught a glimpse of his profile. Right when I saw it I thought, "That looks like Benjamin Kyle!" The similarity was uncanny.

I thought about it a little and there's a small possibility it could be him. The suicidal man was 48 in 2003, making him 55 now (a good age match.) He was a professional (an accountant) and Benjamin Kyle seems to have been as well as he carries himself well and seems like an educated man. He was extremely in debt with casinos and had a major gambling problem which could have led to him fleeing town as well as the subsequent brutal beating down South.

The man's name from the Niagara falls incident was never released. One of the YouTube videos of the event has a description that says the man is still receiving treatment for gambling problems, but I don't know that it's 100% accurate since the name was never released. Also, if he was that far in debt and had lost his father's money, there is a big chance his family isn't looking for him.

Here's a video of the rescue from CourtTV.

It doesn't show the profile of the man's face at the end like Discovery Networks did and the man has very dark hair in the video as opposed to Benjamin Kyle, but he already has the receeding hair line in the video and could be a close match to the center age progressed photo at this link:

It seems far-fetched, but so does a man being found with amnesia that still doesn't know who he is 4.5 years later!

Tirzhaz, I am sorry, I didn't get back sooner, I have been under the weather. He does have a look of Benjamin, first thing I noticed was a bald spot, directly on top. BK is thin and no bald spot, but the man's hair could have been wet.
Anyway I am searching to find answers on this for you. Here are two articles I came across:

Those artcicles don't have any more information than I already had. Hmm...I didn't notice a bald spot on the man's head. The video is pretty poor quality so it's hard to say.
