Bull elk nearly drowns in pool

Full story: Fox 31 KDVR

An uninvited guest went for an ill-advised swim Tuesday night in Golden. Doug Talley sent FOX 31 photos of a 12-point bull elk that somehow ended up trapped in his pool.

I spend all that time out in the woods freezing and hunting elk, only to find out all I had to do was hang out at the pool.

Just to mention that "12" point elk is actually considered a 6 X 6

Don't be so sure. The damage was voluntarily caused by the homeowner to free the animal. I know a lot of insurance companies that will flat out deny this one on greed and technicality.

I applaud this family for trying to help the poor animal instead of being upset over their pool. I'll send them money if they need it!

What happened to the security/safety fence around the pool? Where I live it is required that any private pool be securely fenced and gated so that children (and animals) don't wind up accidently falling in. Also, if you want to live in their territory, at least act responsibly and build your property so that native wildlife isn't injured by your intrusion.
