I've known many people that got off the street via the Salvation Army ARC.

And Karl42 please give to the VOA if you like anything that helps people out this holiday time is a good thing.

"God Bless You" (:

The Salvation Army is obviously doing much more for those in need this year than Karl42 is...
That, in itself, speaks volumes...

Salvation Army SUCKS. They abuse anyone who visits them for help more than once, in particular asking for food assistance.

Just warning anyone thinking of using them.

Btw, if anyone is thinking of donating to them, think again - your $$ pays for abuses.

And when I say abuse, I DON'T mean you get it just once - if only you get that lucky. You get it REPEATEDLY. They habitually do this to people. Don't pay for abuses people.

Karl please give more this year people are hurting.

I only give $20.000.00 last year but every little bit counts.

I'll toss in an extra $5,000 and to your VOA.

God Bless You

Common sense dictates that those who BRAG are often covering for their own "short-comings"...
Those who donate in the amount you've listed, don't wantonly post their contributions to random forum sites...
Get a life...

You Lady (and I use that term loosely) Have no idea who I'am and what my walk of life is, will be, and has been.

True my donations are none of your business you just cant stop being oh' so very Christian and all I thought you just might like to know what I do for the less fortunate in my country.

Thank you, and don't be late for your welfare check and food stamp appointment.

Like I said, when one "brags" it's often to mask their "short-comings"...It also speaks volumes as to their general character...

Resent numbers show:
One unit,(and remember their international) took in over $2,500,000 in cash and non-cash donations, another $4,000,000 in government funds (still our money) of that, a staggering amount of more than $4,500,000 was paid out in salaries and benefits alone! And that number does not include the other large amounts of operating cost.

The Salvation Army’s RED KETTLES you see in front of Walmart & other locations, are a 6 week church fundraising campaign (the church, aka cops community centers, are not self-sustaining) for a Salvationist church, that primarily caters to its Salvationist members, a lot of which are on the payroll. Would people still give knowing this? Wouldn’t they just give to their church... so they could expand its outreach programs?

Before you give; Demand to see your local SA's - IRS form 990! CFC ruling 88-1 states:“Organizations that are not required to file IRS Form 990 with the IRS must nonetheless submit a completed copy of that form with their application for national or local eligibility.”

The Salvation Army “Officers” benefits package looks like this: All expenses paid, complements of you, the donor!“Nice” home, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, vehicles, gas, heating, electric, phone, cell phones, Internet, cable, uniforms, daycare, trips, computers, retirement & cash salaries. They live very well! The national average for all of the above is about $73,000.00 per year or more; depending on rank and kids.

The SA gave my father a warm coat every year... they gave him an address I could write too....they helped him file for Disability benefits and get hooked up with the VA.....they would help him out with new sleeping gear everytime the cops would find his and throw it away...

The address meant more to me then anything. I know it was a little thing and did not cost them anything, but it gave me a relationship with my Dad the last couple years before he died.
