Yes, I know how many things can be killed with things like AK-47s with extra large clips ..... I've seen on the news how many people can be killed by them at movie theaters and malls.
That's the movies.

AK's are hard to hold on target they climb when shooting fast. An AR-15 is much better at keeping barrel level when shooting fast. Even a SKS does a better job then an AK-47.

I have all three. All with muzzle brakes to keep barrel from climbing.AK the worst of the three by far.

Actually it was a high capacity magazine used in Aurora Colorado. And it was my understanding his gun jammed stopping the rest of the rounds to be fired off. Probably an inexpensive magazine wound up saving peoples lives. Ive experienced many jams with big magazines and they are actually not very reliable in the first place. And I guarantee you I could shoot and replace 10 round mags almost as fast . Its not the guns or magazines..Its the people. Some people shouldn't be allowed to drive either but they pass a simple test. I think there should be a test before being allowed to be a parent. That would solve lots of issues. Its not the guns..Its peoples kids going through life with serious issues either being undetected or ignored. Like trevon martin. He met his destiny by making someone defend themselves against himself. Bad parenting got him killed.

Did you read about the gun law Montana passed last year? If it's manufactured in Montana, sold in Montana, to a Montana resident the Federal laws don't apply. They can't use the Interstate Commerce Law to interfere with the states rights. I like it!
I like that one too!

Are you the Satan 64 I use to cut up with on a Kentucky forum (if you are then you know which one)? If you are ..... Hi!
Gun rights were in far more danger from Romney if he had been elected.
But the second Amendment doesn't give the right to carry a lot of things, such as stinger missiles or explosives. It also doesn't give the right to carry one everywhere. There are situations and elements which have to be controlled. There has to be corrections made so not near as many criminals and unstable people can get them.
If you're the Satan 64 I know then you know me well enough to know I would shoot the daylights out of anyone who attempted rape on me. So you know I'm not anti-gun. But I do fully believe that criminals are getting guns much too easily.
Hi Jen, it is me.

Honestly in all my travels, I know no one here in the states that has a stinger missi,e, or anti tank weapons.

If common-sense laws are continually fought down, even laws that only seek to improve criminal background checks and data sharing, then someday something may happen which causes enough of the public to scream out. And harsh gun laws may very well happen.

Right now, laws which reduce criminals from having or obtaining them need refining. It can be done without it taking guns from legitimate normal owners.

The difference? The time it takes for people to run away.

See my last post as to what I think may likely occur due to fighting down common-sense laws.

I live a half mile from that theater. My feeling is it's too bad nobody in the theater was armed. Nut cases will always get guns. Gun laws take away our ability to shoot back.

The Aurora theater shooter also had his apartment rigged to blow up. Had the police just marched through the door many more innocent people in that apartment building would have died. Since he obviously had the ability to build a bomb don't you think that if guns had not been available he would have bombed the theater?
The problem isn't guns. The problem is the nut cases. If guns aren't available they will use another means.

The Aurora shooter was under the care of a psychiatrist. Said psychiatrist had notified the campus police that he was a problem. The mother, when told what the shooter had done said "it doesn't surprise me". Again, the problem is how we handle, or rather DON'T handle the mentally ill. It's the people, not the guns.

i just bought a rifle and i assure you, they did a back ground check on me.

think about it now. couple hundred people in a small room, in the dark. only one, maybe two exits.
people in a panic, running over top of each other screaming. the sound of a rifle going off in a confined space and most was deafened by the second shot fired.
there was no advantage to running away, there was no place to go. i'm guessing that's the reason he picked a movie theater.
tell me what advantage those people would have had if he had only 10 round mags?

what if he had only a large knife or machete? he could have killed/wounded as many if not more with an edged weapon than a rifle.
1. no ammo to carry
2. an edge weapon will not jamb
3. more easly to concel
4. stealth- he could have killed at least two in the dark before anyone would have known.

someone bent on killing will do it no matter the weapon chosen. what did people do before firearms? hacked each other to death, used rocks and clubs etc...

The terrorists that crashed planes in to the pentagon and the twin towers didnt have guns. They had utility knives and killed over 3,000 people and wounded thousands more.

No guns, No assault weapons, no bombs....razor knives.

In almost every incident it would have been favorable to have armed citizens present.

When time counts the police are only a phone call away..And the time it takes to get there. If you can make a call...And give them directions.. And get out of the car and gear up..And then find the perpetrator..And figure out who and what happened and why they hear gun shots... while people die, Defenselessly..

We don't need to improve policies on nutcases getting guns so easily do we?

Today ..... going on right now .....

"Children and adults gunned down in Connecticut school massacre"

"We're told "close to 20" people are dead, including at least 10 children; the shooter is also dead"

http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2012/12/14/shooting...

Now give a huge thank you to the NRA and gun lobbyists for things like this.

An update, the count is now 25 dead and 24 wounded (some critical).

"The massacre involved two gunmen and prompted the town of Newtown to lock down all its schools and draw SWAT teams to the school, authorities said today."

"One shooter is dead and a manhunt is on for a second gunman. Police are searching cars. One shooter was described as a 24-year-old armed man with four weapons and wearing a bullet-proof vest, sources told ABC News."

"It's unclear how many people have been shot, but 25 people, mostly children, are dead, multiple federal and state sources tell ABC News. That number could rise, officials said."
