If the purpose of this Ticketing frenzy were to actually improve the parking situation in Denver, I would be full heartedly supportive. However, Parking Ticket Officers are regularly targeting benign offenses in an effort to drive city revenue. Parking offenses such as no attached front license plate have NOTHING to do with improving Denver parking. It has EVERYTHING to do with driving revenue for the City of Denver!!

The irony is these types of penalties are actually diminishing the overall revenue for the city of Denver in the eyes of our valued merchants! As a resident in Denver, I seek out locations where parking is more readily available, and unforeseen parking violations are less likely. Therefore, most places in the Downtown and Cherry Creek areas loose my business. I'm quite confident that I am not the only person who feels this way.

There is a way to enforce the law where reasonable judgement can be excersized. Unfortunately, the Parking Violation police are most likely encouraged, if not rewarded, for elminiating reasonable judgement from their job requirements. Shame on Denver and shame on Hickenlooper. This behavior is opportunistic at its very worst!

Not everyone goes downtown on a regular basis weezy22. I just got 2 ticket within 2 hours for the 2 stupidest reasons! A lot of their citations have nothing to do with signs or meter times being expired. And $25 a citations is ridiculous!

Something fishy going on. Are "No Parking" signs portable? Now you see them, now you don't. Beware of the Highlands area.

Pay for parking and follow signs and this won't happen - if you're unfamiliar with parking rules, a reasonable person would take the time to figure it out, wouldn't you think?

I am furious, livid, appalled at Denver's parking policy. I work in an enterprise zone, an area that Denver is trying to "refurbish." You would assume that the city would not harrass the businesses and employees that are assisting in the betterment of the city for petty and meaningless parking "violations." Not so. Having relocated from Florida where a front plate is not required, my Galant does not even HAVE a method for attaching a front plate. I received a ticket while parked at work. SEVEN days later, I received another ticket for the same thing (my vehicle not being at the office in between). I had to wait on the dealer in trying to even locate the necessary part - they had to order it and it would take a week to get in. A trip to the parking magristate about the second ticket (I dutifully paid the first) resulted in the comment, "you received two tickets, you have to pay them both." You bet I'm ticked off. A city and its officials that willfully extorts its residents emphasizes the feeling, "it's a nice place to visit, but you would't want to live there."

Why wouldn't you put your tag on your dash? Especially after the first ticket? Lol

Anyone know what happens if you simply ignore a parking violation ?? I received one today for no front license plate ($75 !!). Is it reported to the DMV or anywhere else ? What is their recourse if you don't pay ??
Thanks !

Everyone knows where this is coming from. It's coming from the top. It's a fee, there are no limits. Loop knows this, and if people are ticked, they will not vote for this clown as governor. It's a shame the reps can't get their act together and send him packing. He wouldn't be that hard to beat. He and Ritter, both need to go.

Even if 101, 60 and 61 pass, there is nothing stopping him from having the state police write tickets all day long.

I was at DIA recently, and could no believe the cops writing tickets. Ya, big crime wave at DIA. It's all about money, and we can stop it, if we 'fire' these idiots. We'll see in November if people are really sick and tired of it, or all talk.

Depends on the city. Some turn you over for collection. Some go so far as to pull your drivers license. A few will boot your car so you can't move it and then charge you for that too. All of them will keep adding to the fine periodically so you're probably better off just paying it.

It does come from the top. While most poeple think the Police have a quoata, they don't. But parking management does. If they don't produce they are let go. The parking management ticket writers have even put parking tickets on Police cars. The chicken sh** tickets they write don't have a thing to do with improving the parking situation. Isn't this what the Looper used as a gimmick to get elected? Who votes these kind of people in office?

The tickets are just another tax. Why go to Denver and pay for parking or a ticket and risk betting beat up by the cops?

I agree with the statement about this being an additional tax. The County/City is broke and looking for any way of raising additional revenue.

To pin this on Hick is silly -- Do you really believe that a different Mayor would do any different ? I think this policy totally sucks and is shortsighted because I will stay away from Denver/C.Creek and spend my $$$ elsewhere. Do you really believe that people vote or not vote for a Mayoral candidate based on their parking ticket policy ??

Mayor candidate! I wish. He is running for Governor. I don't live in Denver, so I'm not under his rule, but I would be if he was governor. He is a big government, government knows best, and big time spender with all kinds of projects for the state on his agenda. Wake up and read about his positions, his hiring of illegals, sanctuary city which he will expand to sanctuary state, Van Jones admirer, big time greeny. Please, it is scary how ill informed people are about this clown.

Funny; remember HOW the Hick got into the Mayor's office?

His SMARMY scooter and plugging parking meters ads?

Well, you now see the REAL piece of trash in the mayor's chair...

And some people want this piece of chit in the Governors chair?

My ex got a ticket for the 10" from the curb violation...and since then we avoid Denver and take our money elsewhere....
