Please be advised that the people who run www.bangitammo.com require you to send them an image of a legitimate piece of ID when you order ammunition from them. Other companies which sell ammunition are satisfied with you supplying them your date of birth without engaging in this practice of collecting images of various forms of ID with your name, date of birth, and address on them. BEWARE of anyone engaging in such practices as you may be setting yourself up for future ID Theft or you may be being 'registered' through a 'backdoor' such as Director Greg Ridgeway of the National Institute of Justice, USDoJ, recommends be done in lieu of gun registration in his January 4, 2013, Paper: ""Summary of Select Firearm Violence Prevention Strategies", Page 4, Ammunition Logs.
Neither Brownells, nor MidwayUSA, nor Cheaper Than Dirt, nor Sportsmans Guide, nor Cabela's, nor AbleAmmo.com , nor AmmoSupplyWarehouse, and many others only require you to give them your date of birth, or send you an email requiring a reply (e.g., Brownell's). BangItAmmo COULD BE a shill for a BATFE informant collecting information on who buys ammo, their address, what type of ammo you are buying and how much of it. Or worse, IT COULD BE someone just collecting images of various types of legitimate ID for future misuse. Think about WHY this organization requires that kind of documentation, when others do not. Do business with them at your own risk, and be advised that if you question the need for sending them a copy of your personal documents, they will send you an UNSIGNED (they are apparently too fearful of giving YOU THEIR NAMES all the while requiring a lot FROM YOU) email cancelling your order. Do business with people that not only COMPLY with Federal and other LAWS, but who also DO NOT PUT YOUR PRIVACY AND POSSIBLY CREDIT INFORMATION AT RISK BY ONEROUS REQUIREMENTS ON YOU.(capitals for emphasis) That being said, do business with these UNKNOWN PEOPLE at your own risk.

You need to relax a little. We simply ask for date of birth to comply with the Federal Law that governs our operations. We are not stealing your silly identity. We simply don't want to sell ammo to some kid who is going to shoot up a school which is real possibility.
As for collecting data, our directions go into detail and ask you to blot out your photo, ID# and anything else you don't want to show us. If you don't feel like sending in your gov't ID we accept hunting licenses as well or for that matter anything formal that shows your over 18 or 21. Trust me when I say, we are not trying to steal your doe tags or secret hunting license numbers. TOO FUNNY!
Feel free to check with the ATF who licenses us and or take a look at the federal law that governs ammo sales by FFL. If we cannot see you, we have no idea how old you are. I assure you we are not a government spy either. HA HA HA....hilarious! With all the technology today, don't you think they could just pull your credit card info from the processors rather then start a little ammo company and box ammo all day long to get your identity? Again, pretty funny.
We are in the business of protecting our customers not creating problems for them. It's funny that we always find posts like this after we have to cancel someone's order who refused to send in their proof of age even though they agreed to when they checked out.
You are free to shop were ever you like and folks who don't feel comfortable buying stuff on line should do it in person and support their local mom and pop gun shop instead of one of these companies rationing ammo.
If you would like to discuss this, feel free to call me. I am there daily from 10-7 answering the phones. www.bangitammo.com

OH, I forgot....the just opened a new Cabelas here in Greenville and they card everyone leaving the store who is purchasing ammunition. I just thought of that as there was a guy 80+ in front of me and they carded him to prove he was of legal age. The little girl working said that was company policy at checkout when he started laughing. Thanks for the discussion. Good stuff!

One last thing I was thinking about as I was boxing another order. States like NYS, IL, CT and NJ require additional identification besides age proof like FOID cards, FFLs, Ammo Permits, Hand Gun Permits, etc. For those states, we have to keep them on file.
I also thought a link to our "AGE VERIFICATION" page would be helpful.
This shows the actual Federal Law and an article from the NRA addressing that more and more companies are requiring age proof for online sales due to the fact they don't want to get sued or go to federal prison.
Again, feel free to contact me if you have any question.

Crappy ammo, high prices, zero customer service. Beware

Buying cheap ammunition is a good way to ruin your weapon. Like everything you get what you pay for.
