Maine lobsterman finds two-tone crustacean
It's not quite winning the lottery, but the odds are about as remote: A lobsterman off the coast of Maine recently hauled in an almost perfectly two-toned lobster - half orange, half brown. The chances, according to scientists, are approximately 1-in-50 million.

An Aug. 30 picture from the Zoo Aquarium de Madrid shows a giant panda mother, Hua Zui Ba, holding her newborn cub.

MADRID, Spain — A giant panda in Madrid's zoo has given birth to a healthy male, and the 1-day-old, pink-skinned cub is already proving a handful, screaming his way through his first medical checkup.

The new arrival, delivered after a natural birth in the early hours of Friday, is only the 10th specimen of the highly endangered animal in Europe, the Madrid Zoo said.

Spain skyscraper with no elevators nearly complete

ALICANTE, Spain, Aug. 10 (UPI)-- Builders in Spain say adding exterior elevator shafts seems to be the only Plan B available for a 47-story skyscraper that currently only has stairs.
In a major oversight, the InTempo building in Alicante was designed, approved and well under construction before anyone realized the plans did not include elevator shafts.

Former NYPD sergeant questions sister's killing by police in Washington
By Edward Upright
Police in Washington could have avoided shooting dead a woman pursued by officers in a car chase that led to the lockdown of the Capitol this week, the driver's sister, former New York police sergeant Valarie Carey, said late on Friday.
"My sister could have been any person traveling in our capital," Valarie Carey told reporters outside her Brooklyn home. "Deadly physical force was not the ultimate recourse and it didn't have to be."

The reporter dropped the ball....I'd be fascinated to know, why a sister, still so young looking...is a former NYPD Sargeant?....bet that is a story, in itself.....
