What a horrible thing to have happen to these children! But thank God the problem was caught before they died. Now I hope the younger 2 kids can get transplants before something happens to them. Really makes one think about how precious life is...

Agreed. I know I'm not using my organs when I die, so I hope that they can be put to use by those who actually need them.

I'm glad the condition was found early in the case of the siblings.

How awful for the family. I sure hope they have good insurance, although I'd bet that even with it their share of costs will still be astronomical. Good question, Scott - hey 9News, can you look into it?

I just cringe when I hear that word - cardiomyopathy. I've had two cats die from it. Of course I'm not equating my beloved kitties to children - just free associating (past my bedtime). My heart goes out to the family. That doesn't sound right but my heart's in the right place. Ugh I should stop while I'm ahead.

Samantha, way to find the good in it, to think about helping your younger brother and sister. Stay focused on the good. May you always feel the love of God around you.

The story was wonderful. I feel sorry for the grandparents, and yet happy for Sam. We also have a Grandaughter named Sami and she is going to be 6 yrs old. Dr. Myamoto and the staff at Children's have been fantastic since Sami received her new heart on 9/11/05. I commend everyone involved and good luck on your long journey ahead.

Well my Heart is behind them 100%. On April 14 1997 I was in an automobile accident (Wreck!) that required that I have some bones and a cornea from cedavers. I know for one that it is kind of scary. But everything has worked out more than just fine so far. At least for the first 10 years + a couple months. So I for one know it can be done! Just hang in there!

Take care...=)

You should ask 9 nesw and see if they can set up a fund. That would be great!

YOU'RE a potential donor?? That surprises me-Do you have a clause stating who DOESN'T get your organs. Anyone who has read your past comments, already knows what ethnic background that I'm talking about!!

Recycle yourself! Definately be an organ and tissue donor! At the very least, donate your body to science...... Ever read the book, "Stiff"?
