I wonder what a "better story chat" would look like? Probably a moderated forum where the thought police would review and approve each post before it's put online. No thanks!

I think if we don't constantly use profanity, bash a races, etc. then it wouldn't be an issue. The fact that there is debate about issues isn't the issue, it is the words used to debate those issues. I don't want my thoughts monitored by the thought police, but people like aoi are the reason its being taken down.

A system that requires login (ie, no anonymous posts) would go a long way to fix the problem.. then the problem posters could be banned. Of course, they'd come back with a different name, but maybe they'd give up after being banned a few times?

I just tried to go onto topix and see how hard it is to find the story I'm looking for to discuss. Sometimes it's readily available, and other times I can't find it at all. It's not going to be worth the effort. I started posting on the 9News forums, because I've watched their news for years, and the stories were readily available to click on and discuss with other viewers. Posters like Denver (he' changing his post name continually throughout a post), who constantly insult people, and so many others who can't put the racist card down have just ruined it for the rest of us. This is the same thing I was debating a few days ago on the story about the kid who got tased for being disruptive at that Kerry event. An abuse of privileges by a few, will cause those same things to be restricted for the rest of us. It's been nice chatting with you folks. I doubt I'll see any replies to this, because I only found it by luck in the first place. I too thought the website was having difficulties. So long fellow debaters! I've had some good ones with some of you.

Quite honostly, I am surprised they didn't take this down months ago-especially in May! It was very racially heated on BOTH sides. It's not fair to those of us appreciate this.

It's easy to ban a IP address and or email associated with an account.

Im sure that would help as long as they didnt take it too far. I just worry that they will censor things too much now.

You have to go to a specific spot, ie.kusaDenver. Topix is county-wide. If you just go to Topix you will have links to every forum in the country. To get here you go to http://www.topix.net/forum/source/kusa
