I have worked with this company in several ways for years. Their recovery rates are one of the highest in the state, and their complaints are the lowest. I have found them to always be highly professional, courteous, and have a profound respect and understanding for our U.S. soldiers overseas, as well as local customers fallen on hard times. Many of their clients are gained via word-of-mouth, and some of those have once been ACB debtors themselves! If you have to deal with a collection agency, I couldn't think of a better one to be stuck talking to.

I don't appreciate being called spam. That's simply rude. Perhaps you have something more intelligent to say?

I strongly disagree with your opinion of the Aurora Collection Bureau. I've made repeated attempts to resolve a debt that a German telephone company thinks I owe. Due to the language barrier I requested assistance from the legal office here and was misinformed.(I later found out he retired three days later and didn't have time to deal with me) Meanwhile Aurora applied the debt to my credit report thus damaging my FICO. This is the ONLY blemish on my credit report! When I called to discuss AND PAY the debt (that I STILL don't feel I owe) just to be rid of the issue I was treated like I was the scum of the earth. She was SO RUDE, I didn't even have a chance to negotiate having it removed completely from my credit report. When I asked for the Supervisor, she claimed she was the Supervisor/Owner. After 20 minutes of being interupted and spoken to in a very condescending manner, I was in tears and pushed to my own, less than congenial response and hung up. The debt is still not paid and still affecting my FICO. I want to pay the debt as the fight with the German company has gotten me nowhere fast! But, it would be nice if they would remove the debt from my credit report, considering the issue of the language barrier making it difficult to resolve this issue.

To Bill Payer: It would appear based on your location that you may be military personell. It is my understanding that ACB will work directly the national credit bureaus to rectify derogatory remarks, as a courtesy to all military and governmental personell. Perhaps if you had questioned the supervisor about this specific issue you may have received the answer you were waiting for.

Maybe you missed the following quote from my original post: "I was treated like I was the scum of the earth. And she is fully aware that I am a Government employee.

Seeing as how you are a governmental employee it would seem that your credit concerns will be resolved, regardless. Perhaps also, you and the collector fed off of each other and each allowed the conversation to follow a less than professional direction as does happen so often in stressful situations. I'm not condoning the situation as you have written it; just saying 1)it sounds like a couple of bad days in the same call and 2) debt collectors are actual people, too.

Hope your situation ends well and Thanks for serving our beautiful country!-out

Bill Payer - I have also had a similar experience with an incredibly rude and condescending ACB employee who also claimed that she was the supervisor. I was repeatedly interrupted and belittled when trying to get more information concerning a debt I did not owe. I have since begun working with the local JAG and IG offices where I was stationed, as well as the JAG HQ in Rossyln. Additionally, I've contacted my attorney and we're looking in to class action. I have a feeling that we're not the only ones getting railroaded here. Good luck.

I am highly dissatisfied with this service. I made every attempt to pay a debt because I owed it. I made payment arrangements with this firm, who, in writing, accepted all terms and conditions of the payment arrangement and then turned around and garnished my wages. FINE, well as it turnes out, they garnished my wages for MORE then I owed them, now I've been fighting tooth and nail to get the overpayment returned and they've been rude, less then approachable, unwilling to acknowledge and be helpful and insulting. I don't believe they have a good business practice at all and I plan to file as many complaints as I legally can.

"ski" - Your minimal overpayment made by your employer is being returned to you within the allotted and legal 30 day time period. Should you continue to slander the company in this manner, it is you that will be doing something inapproprite and potentially illegal.

Lowest complaints ?- please give numbers to back up your claims. I have also found them to be unprofessional, discourteous and aggressive to the point of provoking litigation rather than resolving it. "Highly professional" must work for them.

Let's be honest: whoever the lady is that works behind the phone is very unhappy with her life. Now don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want her job any more than I'd want to be the guy who cleans up the toilets at a Grey Hound station in downtown Cleveland (which, at least, is an honest living) but this woman (I use the term loosely) is WAY out-of-control. I especially like the phony positive comments about how "professional" this place is...are we all supposed to be retarded?

This company is one of the worst they do not work with you in anyway. Same instance german phone company billed me for 10000 dollars for internet service while i was in Iraq and they refuse to make a settlement. So best thing to do wait five years and it will come off your report even if you still havent paid it. TKS sucks

Same here. It is known that this telephone company is owned by the German government and that they intentionally come up with fake bills in huge amounts to take advantage of the fact that U.S. soldiers can get in trouble for indebtedness and be forced to pay it.

I was advised by my commander and others when I ran into this issue to not pay the bill. I switched my internet over to a 50 mark/month flat rate for internet and when I got my first bill it was for 2,000 marks. When I got a face-to-face with them they refused to validate the debt and their only answer was, "well, the bill is just right".

That was 10 YEARS AGO!!! Now they're sending this German front strong-arm company, Aurora after me. Well guess what.. this veteran is tired of being bullied. I'm going to hit back and hit back hard. I'm contacting my national commander, my congressman, and a lawyer. I'm going to ask for proof of this debt on paper. I want to see my signature and if they can't produce it, then the debt is invalid and they have been harassing me for the last DECADE. Time for these bullies to find out what happens when they get a pissed off veteran on their case. I'm going to take them for every dime I can get.

I suggest that all of you file a complaint with the BBB! It is a pretty simple process. You can start by looking at http://www.bbb.org/denver/new-business-review... and click on file a complaint. It is very important that you respond and follow up with the BBB investigation. Hopefully nobody will accuse me of slander for this!! Cheers.

I also found out about my debt to a German phone company on my credit report. After contacting Aurora I also requested copies of itemized statements so that I could verify the debt. Within days they had emailed me copies and even answered questions that I had via email. So far the process has been very easy and everyone has been very professional. I am looking forward to putting this debt behind me.

William, you sound like someone getting paid to advertise for the company and try to do damage control. You "found out" about your bill? You didn't KNOW you had a bill with them? Do you sleep walk and sign contracts with phone companies? I'm raising the BS flag on this one! You don't just "find out" you have a bill. You either incurred it or you didn't. I also think you're full of it because every single post I've read anywhere on the net that obviously isn't someone just trying to make the company look better, says that they're horrible and difficult to work with. Maybe you should have written that junk a little better, because I can see right through it. You're probably on their payroll or an employee. Well get this, the vets who serve our nation deserve better than this crap and it's Aurora that is trying to HELP the GERMAN government SCREW our soldiers! It's ungrateful pricks like you that don't deserve the rewards that soldier's sacrifices paid for. As far as I'm concerned, you're a traitor and so is this Aurora company. It's a good thing this is a free country because if it was up to me, traitors would be lined up against a concrete wall and DEALT with.
