Yes, it has come to that. Somehow religious people have the idea that there are not nearly enough people on earth so the more babies the better. I won't say that they have their heads in the sand because THERE IS NO MORE SAND!!! IT IS ALL GLASS NOW!!!

Oops sorry. I got a little silly there. By the time sand would run out humans will have been long gone. The sorry, sick, ridiculousness of believing that the earth is NOT over populated makes me say things just as silly in order to stay in the conversation. I simply talk down to that level in order to keep talking. Loll.

I will not make the point that the earth is over populated with any links or URL's or quotes exedra. I will do it by asking people to simply open their eves and look around where ever they are at the moment. If you are in your home look at everything around you and think about where all that stuff goes when you are through with it. Now multiply that by seven or eight billion people. Now multiply that by a time factor such as each generation or decade. This equation will give you the amount of stuff that gathers as waist. Multiply that by the average amount of time it takes for these mountains of stuff to degrade. X * Y * Z = the amount of stuff that is OUT THERE SOMEWHERE!

If you are outdoors open your eyes and look around you. There is no factoring to do here. No matter where you are, as long as your eye's are open, there is trash! Seven miles under water in the Mariana trench (I doubt that I spelled that right) sits plastic chairs. Baby diapers, grocery bags, water bottles, and the most beautiful Florissant glowing creatures swimming blindly to their death inside of the grocery bag..

If it is night time you can be on top of a fourteen thousand foot mountain looking at the sky and wondering where the milky way disappeared to. Only thirty years ago you may have hiked up that mountain and at seven PM as the sun is setting and the moon is rising you could see Venus blinking not far from the moon. By midnight the sky looks like clouds in most places due to the stars that coat the entire place from horizon to horizon. Today, on a good night, you might see the big dipper. At fourteen thousand feet it isn't even the pollution that is blocking the view, it is the light from cities surrounding the mountains that are doing it. In order to get the view I saw in my youth I have to hike for a week into the San Juan mountains that are far to rugged for people to live...for now!!!

As you can see I never know where I am going to end up once I start writing. Loll.

BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT I WANT TO SAY:):)

I want to tell you that you got that right. It seems that the answer to my question is that the human race is being held back from doing what is necessary by 2,000 year old parables. RELIGION is blinding people to reality. The simple stuff I wrote above means nothing to billions of people who don't have faith in their fellow man but in the words of someone writing about someone else along with other people's same deed and put together in a book. From 600 to 2,000 years ago there lived a few men who spoke in a completely different language to completely different people in a completely different world. If I could hear what they have to say that would be one thing but I am not placing the future of humans on 2,000 years of changes made by ?????? EVERY ONE WHO COULD GET AWAY WITH IT!!!

We were promised a return visit if I am correct. So lets have it or get off the pot and start being responsible for ourselves!!!

Okay… And America is finding more and more fuel everyday to supply that type of demand for 100 year or more… More than enough time to find and develop new types of energy to sustain our needs.

You’re obviously okay with it to with that hot little ride you have.

a 500g golf ball sized piece of thorium can provide one person's energy needs, including transport and heating, for life. It would take 200 tons of uranium, or 3.5 million tons of coal to do that for one person. Thorium could supply the world with all its energy requirements for 10,000 years.

This is where I find it very hard to RESPECT people such as you and my wife. Highly religious people who can shun their book of rules in an instant when it behooves them. Then they can condone their new action and twist and turn everything around by throwing quotes from their book of rules

.In your life time you have become a master of the bible like all bible thumpers. You must have figured out that you can find a passage to support anything you say due to your vast knowledge of the rule book. I just this moment figured that out. After so many years of listening to my "X - Wife" and now having been reading so much of what you say in here it became obvious that you are extremely comfortable in saying what ever you want. So as I was about to say something about this last comment of yours I thought of what your response would be. BOOM!!! It hit me! The thing I was going to write would have been one of the things that put people in a corner. But you never get stuck in a corner. That is because at the point when you are trapped you start using quotes from the Bible. Then you label the place and person and all of the crap that always comes with a quote.so that I will know that you have backed yourself up with something in the one book that I must obey. I too have enough knowledge of the bible to realize that there is something in there that I can use to support anything I say. Only I never did this as it seemed to be abuse rather than use.

In your comment above you boldly condone greed! I was going to say a lot more but now I don't have to. I'll just let you tell me how your answer to Karl's question does NOT show greed?

It is not in here. It was your answer to the %'s that Karl quoted to you. Do you know which one I mean?

We(this country) is not doing the research China will be who you will be buying them from.
Using research done here in the 1930's and 40's.

Yes, we had a thorium reactor that ran for 6 years but these kind of plants don't make plutonium 239 like nuclear power plants running on uranium-235. The government went with the nasty uranium-235 with all it million plus year nasty waste so we could make atomic bombs.

And thorium power plants can make fuel for cars by taken CO
from the air and mixing it with waste from thorium reactions. They can also make cheap nitrogen fertilizer, fresh water from seawater using waste heat.

If we don't act soon China will be the worlds super power.

Very good. First I am sure you knew exactly what comment I was talking about since most of it actually was in the last box and you answered it anyway. That is not lying but it is manipulating. As they say "You can't manipulate a manipulator." I was one until I fully realized how destructive I could be so I chose to avoid it.(I admit to faltering at times) Then you addressed the use of bible quotes. Again, in a manipulative way you state you do not do that "To argue economic points." A sly way to get out from any proof I should bring to the table. Especially since you know I am lazy loll. Then you ask the wrong question!!!

" I will than ask you do you heat your home, your water, do you drive a car? Does that make you greedy? "

My X - wife and I decided many years ago to put our beliefs to action. We really did, Argg!!! I own a fancy Aurora which has been used three times in the last four years. Twice was to get the emissions test. I bought a 50cc motor bike that gets 100++ miles to the gallon, nearly no carbon waist, and needs only a small path to drive on. It will do 60 MPH downhill and 35 - 40 on a level plain. I LOVE IT!!!

We installed solar panels during the tax break days when the Soviets installed them on nearly every home. We can not get parts and they cost to much now but we still use them as much as we can.

That covers the three you asked about so my answer to you is NO, I am not greedy but you on the other hand still must answer to the comment I made about YOUR GREED!!!

I will send pictures as proof to whoever wants.

I’m not sure I would classify it as greed… It’s choice and ability. Truly it’s the same with wealth… Although I have had run-ins with truly greedy people a majority of wealthy folks in America are humbled and thankful for all the opportunities that God has provide to them… That said I know greedy poor people. People who milk the system for cash and benefits and do very little work… Ask for donations and spend it on 150 dollar shoes… I acknowledge greed exists, however because the US consumes 25% on the worlds fossil fuels is by no means greedy.

You’re obviously okay with it to with that hot little ride you have.
Just a few of the roadblocks: Independent producers will spend $1.50 drilling this year for every dollar they get back. Shale output drops faster than production from conventional methods. It will take 2,500 new wells a year just to sustain output of 1 million barrels a day in North Dakota’s Bakken shale, according to the Paris-based International Energy Agency. Iraq could do the same with 60.

Consider Sanchez Energy Corp. The Houston-based company plans to spend as much as $600 million this year, almost double its estimated 2013 revenue, on the Eagle Ford shale formation in south Texas, which along with North Dakota is one of the hotbeds of a drilling frenzy that’s pushed U.S. crude output to the highest in almost 26 years. Its Sante North 1H oil well pumped five times more water than crude, Sanchez Energy said in a Feb. 17 regulatory filing. Shares sank 7 percent.

Drillers are pushing to maintain the pace of the unprecedented 39 percent gain in U.S. oil production since the end of 2011. Yet achieving U.S. energy self-sufficiency depends on easy credit and oil prices high enough to cover well costs. Even with crude above $100 a barrel, shale producers are spending money faster than they make it.

Much more at link. How long can oil companies spend more than they make selling the oil?
