They all drive like lunitics turn on there sirens and run thru traffic lights just to get a latte'" I seen it done a 100 times right in front of traffic" I stop at the same joint for one"And like I said before in other forums in this realm" I play sports off the clock with 1/2 of them" Its 10 feet tall and bullet proof syndrome" Trust me" few are my friends and hunting and fishing buddies I hang with there nuts.. at times but fun... They always drive in a hurry like a bat out of hell because they can"... Especially out here in Saudi Aurora. Its the biggest gang around, I hope he gets better soon" I know the job sucks out here to be a Cop. with the rif raf.

He is lucky if he work for the US Goverment he would be a fault if he gat a ticket and would be given one. Then he would have to pay for the car!
But we do not know what the call was! I do not think he was late for dunken doughnuts. Yes it does seem sometime they do speed around like lunitics. But you never know what the call was.

Join me, please Tom, in understanding these cops risk their lives every single minute keeping us safe! You almost gave him the benefit of the doubt. Please do!

The Colorado Revised Statutes do not require police officers to wear seatbelts while on duty, but many department policies do.

I grieve for cops everywhere. They gave up lives of luxury to risk their lives keeping us safe. I always give them the benefit of the doubt. Please join me in that positive approach before degrading their very existence. Those of you who get your jollies at the expense of law enforcement, shame on you! They have families and lives. Those negative comments are from those of you who do not have lives of which to be proud! Shame on you!

My heart goes out to the family and coworkers of this officer, but his death may have been a much needed reminder that seatbelts save lives. It doesn't matter if you are a citizen driving two blocks to the library or an officer responding to an emergency. From the pictures, his patrol car sustained very little damage. Tragic way for his life to end.

They CHOSE that job and I believe they know the risks, so why the pity party for them. They are people just like us but get away with a lot more. Yes its sad he was killed as he might have been one of the few good ones.

When I told my 7 year old daughter about Doug's accident (my husband is a fellow officer), she said "He was a good officer, I remember he was a good man". So, so true. We are praying for his family and all law enforcement - this will be a tough week.

Remember, most of the time when you need a cop, you are having a bad, if not horrible, day. That is every day for them - putting themselves at risk to serve and protect you.

What if cops said, IN PUBLIC WHERE A PERSON'S FAMILY AND FRIENDS COULD READ IT, of a DV victim, "well, she was too stupid to leave him. should've moved out." Or a gang shooting victim, "Well, I guess he shouldn't have been gang-bangin'!" Those cops would be PERSECUTED by the likes of you unsupportive people and the media. You, with your disrespect and ignorance, are what is wrong with this country and don't deserve to drink out of any average police officers urinal, much less make use of their services when you need them.
Un-be-LIEVABLE that you would be so insensitive before even knowing if this officer would live. One reason they don't wear their seatbelts is so that they can fly out of their cars and draw their guns fast to save YOUR STUPID LIVES. You should find a rock to hide under and dwell in your shame.
