15-round magazine ammo limit gets final OK in Colorado House

Full story: Estes Park Trail-Gazette

Now only the signature of Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper is needed on a bill that bans Coloradans from purchasing ammunition magazines of more than 15 rounds, as lawmakers in the House on Wednesday gave final approval to the measure and shipped it to his desk.

Wonder if Magpul, the makers of 30 round polymer composite magazines for civilian/government use will now move out of Colorado, taking several hundred jobs and tax money with them? Sure do hope so.

My understanding of the bill is that even my Beretta 10 round mag will be illegal because the base plate comes off for cleaning. They can classify that it is also easily convertible to a higher capacity because of it and therefore illegal..

If your mag is rated as 10 rounds it can't be expanded. Unless there is a removable block inside. But then the spring will be too weak to accomodate more rounds and cycle properly. You'd have to buy a 15 round mag spring to replace it. I'd suggest a move away from Colofornado as soon as possible. Those west coast immigrants y'all let in have f**ked up your state. Sad,they fled California to get away from crap and turned the state they moved to into the crap they ran away from. I'd suggest you native coloradans start running them back where they came from. By ANY means necessary......

I am one of those from Californians who left. Figured my conservative vote there was a losing battle there with Feinstein, Boxer and Miller as my non-representatives. I got here too late to vote. Looks like I got screwed here as well, May, Ulibarri, Perlmutter, Udall, Bennet, all dems. But i did bring conservative votes with me.

Hoping for a change.

that is one approach. Although I suppose you prob thought the same thing about the ballot in the first place. Sterotypes are teh funnez! Just out of curiosity, you fled Cali to get away from liberals, why did you pick CO? We have been a swing state for some time but have been getting more and more liberal with each election. Must be all those damn illegals swaying the vote... Sounds like you may not have done your full due dillegence? Why not Wyo or Neb or AZ? You can go live in conservitard paradise! Seriously! Do it, do it!(ben stiller voice)

Thank God this law is completely unenforceable. Anyone who already owns a bigger mag is grandfathered in and can keep it.
The law requires that all new mags be date stamped but since this is a Colorado law it can't be applied to mags manufactured in other states. Since the only manufacturer in Colorado is leaving because of the law it will be a simple matter to make a run to Wyoming and buy an unstamped mag or a gun that has a bigger mag.

Again.......the anti gun nuts show their stupidity.

Compliments of obamma,

In addition to INCREASING the need formGREATER MAGAZINES ! are there any belt fed out there?

But none of this should come as any surprise to anyone familiar with the history of released detainees under the Obama Administration. According to a study by the Congressional Research Service, nearly 47,000 illegal aliens flagged for deportation between 2009 and 2011 were instead released by the Obama Administration, and 16% of them went on to commit further crimes, including 19 murders, 3 attempted murders and 142 sex crimes, according to CRS and the House Judiciary Committee.

I wonder if the legislature has ever considered crime control, instead of gun control.
