Civil unions for gay couples was a rallying cry for Democrats who took control of the Colorado House in last year's elections and vowed an early vote on the proposal.

Nope, wrong yet again.
I simply pointed out the lies in your position.
I hope you continue to oppose marriage equality; that way we all get to hear you cry like a little girl every time we win another victory.
The more you & your fellow anti-gays whine is an indication we're that much closer to marriage equality.
Incredibly stupid are you. I have acknowledged that you may possibly eventually prevail. If that happens, I'll make money on that, too. Because it's the law does not mean I have to support it or agree with it.(Do you support DOMA?) It means I have to follow it. Big difference.

And no matter how often you tell your lies, they are still lies. And you're still a liar, still irrelevant, still a fraud, and still thoroughly unimpressive.

Don't believe it. See if I care. Obviously, I know far better than you.

You've never caught me in a lie (because I have no need or any incentive to lie, especially to people like you), and you're the poor insecure slob desperate to score some imaginary points, not me. All you can honestly object to is that I do not support same sex marriage and do support civil unions. I don't ask you/demand that you agree with my position nor do I get into some phony outrage if somebody reasonably and rationally disagrees.(See: Quest.) I assure you Quest strongly disagrees, but she's smart, honest, reasonable and rational. I take her seriously and respect her.

You're stupid, dishonest, unreasonable and fairly irrational. So I should take you at all seriously... why?

Go back and read what I ACTUALLY wrote, and what you WANTED to read.
I said I would support (not settle) whatever rights & benefits we can get for same-sex couples whereever we can UNTIL we can get full marriage equality.
UNTIL WE CAN GET FULL MARRIAGE EQUALITY; which I'm supporting as well.
Just one example of many- the Cook County Clerk's office reported 138 opposite-sex couples got a civil union from Jun-Nov 2011. That's just ONE county in ONE of the states which offer civil unions in just a 6 month period. The most common reason given in their survey was a "solidarity with the gay community"; the 2nd most common reason was for the benefits.
Again, it's about having the CHOICE to get whatever rights/benefits are right for your family.
Btw, I chose to get married because that was the right choice for MY family. And while I'm a registered Republican so I can vote in their primary races to help them pick the worst possible candidate, I'm actually an independent who votes for the Dems in the general election.
So this is your proof here say at beat. and as I said you support second class citizenship so why don't you just admit it.

I have never been a one issue voter. Personally I think it ill-advised. There are too many issues that warrant careful consideration. While I am a Republican, I don't march lockstep with some of the more stringent right inclined. True, I support a strong national defense. I support not increasing the debt and deficit by another dime. I support tighter immigration controls and penalties. I support damn near unrestricted reproductive choice and support public funding for same, abortion being a helluva lot cheaper than welfare or prison. I support more public funding for the arts (not the Mapplethorpe type of crap), and I think the feds have no business being in education of health care. I think the religious right weakens the GOP and it's easy for the less successful and productive to want the more productive and successful to carry their sorry asses and dishonestly call taking somebody else's money a "fair share." I also am strongly against any religion's influence in public policy and do not support what you call "marriage equality" but support civil unions or domestic partnerships.
Does that sound like I be a good fit for the left inclined Democrats? I don't expect nor demand that you agree with my positions. My point being that I think there are too many issues to limit yourself because of just one.
Feel free to honestly disagree.
Well, I have plenty enough conversations with you on the latter point to know that you're not against us gay folks, but I have already stated my point many times that I didn't propose to my husband by kneeling and asking, "Will you *civil union* me? You strike me as a live and let live kinda person, and yet why be such a proponent of labeling us different than everybody else? Isn't who you decide to marry a personal decision anyway? What audacity government has to run roughshod over freedom in such a way?!

Be with whomever you want. It's none of my business and I hope you will be very happy with your partner for a gazillion years. If you think I label you differently, it's because I consider you different. Neither better nor worse... and did I mention that your orientation and choice of partner are none of my business or concern? Hell, I'M different! Born-agains are different, artists are different. Engineers are different fer cryin' out loud! Jews are different as are Muslims, Latinos and Asians.(Okay, I admit that I'm not a fan of Muslims. Sue me.)

I don't ask, and certainly don't require that you agree with me.*I* don't always agree with me! And from my perspective, left inclined governments are really good at running roughshod over freedom. I cite Mayor Bloomberg as a not-so-shining example. Civil unions are small potatoes compared to the nut jobs trying to gut the 2nd Amendment, ruin our economy, and dictate what fully one half of the population may do with their reproductive functions.

Love your partner and call him whatever you want. We'll disagree on that and yet civilization as we know it won't end in the next three or four minutes because of it. As far as I'm concerned, that "love your partner" thing trumps whatever name you call the relationship.

I could be wrong but.... What am I saying! Me? Wrong? Ever????(Never gonna happen.)

Latest poll- 58% support marriage for same-sex couples.

Nope, still wrong.

I've ALWAYS supported full marriage equality, and I've NEVER been a Republican.

If you support marriage for same-sex couples right now in any state, then YOU suport "second class citizenship" as well.

You DO realize our marriages currently have only the same rights & benefits as civil unions?

So why do you support second class citizenship? Why don't you just admit it??

Michigan's Constitution defines marriage as one man and one woman:

Article 1 Section 25: To secure and preserve the benefits of marriage for our society and for future generations of children, the union of one man and one woman in marriage shall be the only agreement recognized as a marriage or similar union for any purpose.

So?

Nothing prevented me from going to Massachusettes to get married, just like millions of other people have done.

Yes, Michigan refuses to recognize my legal marriage for state benefits (for now), but that doesn't change the simple fact that I'm legally married to another man.

Interesting bit of hypocrisy- even though Michigan doesn't recognize my marriage for state benefits, if I wanted to marry a woman in Michigan, I'd have to get a divorce first! So it turns out they DO indeed recognize my marriage.

Yet again you know nothing.(That *stupid* thing keep biting you in the ass... which, for all I know, gives you a stiffy.) If it goes your way, I won't lose a nanosecond of sleep. I won't agree with it, but I do have that right. And I will make money from the decision.
