I can't believe that these politicians are still using 75 year old falsehoods about cannabis. I get nauseated every time I hear the "it's about the children" or "we are sending the wrong message" crap!!

Thats a great article..Ill post a teaser for Denver to see.

There they go again.
The folks opposed to Amendment 64, which would legalize marijuana and regulate it like alcohol, are claiming (once again) that marijuana should be kept illegal “in order to protect our kids.”
Or, as Gov. John Hickenlooper put it in his statement opposing the amendment:“Amendment 64 has the potential to increase the number of children using drugs and would detract from efforts to make Colorado the healthiest state in the nation. It sends the wrong message to kids that drugs are OK.”
Coming from Governor Hick, the line about detracting from efforts to make Colorado the healthiest state in the nation is a real howler. Before entering politics, Hickenlooper’s main claim to fame was that he was the founder and operator of the Wynkoop Brewing Company, the oldest brew pub in Denver and one of the most successful. The governor’s success as a beer pusher helped launch his political career. It may seem churlish to dwell on this point, but alcohol causes 300 to 400 overdose fatalities a year, more than 40,000 cases of cirrhosis of the liver, more than 20,000 fatal traffic accidents, and millions of violent crimes, including most of the domestic violence in the U.S. When it comes to detracting from “efforts to make Colorado the healthiest state in the nation,” Hickenlooper has a lot of detracting to make up for

I grew up in Denver. Most of the kids I knew drank their parents booze long before that smoked pot.
Like me , beer was the gateway to everything else.
Booze is in every kids home right now..
I lost lots of friends to drinking. None to weed.

Hickenlooper is a hypocrite when He himself made his fortune on pushing booze..I wonder how many DUIs came out of his bar for all those years.

Right! The address is probably a proxy set up by the DEA.

Ain't buying your snake oil!

Also, stop stoning out your pets, pot users.

Other Vet's don't agree,

I have recently completed and submitted a formal research review paper (now pending approval for publication in a veterinary journal ). Now more than ever I am convinced that medical marijuana has a place in veterinary medicine (albeit a tightly controlled and regulated place to prevent toxicity/overdosing). I would like to thank Ms Whitcomb, the president of the CVMA, the head editor of JAVMA, the CMA and the numerous other supportive veterinarians (who shall remain nameless at this time). Even if some of the aforementioned people did not personally agree with my research, they all remained open-minded and gave me an audience to voice my findings. None were outright dismissive or overtly argumentative. This speaks volumes of their character and integrity. Perhaps most importantly, I’d also like to thank my clients and all the pet owners whose unwavering support has helped me to keep pushing forward and not quit the fight. I am humbly reminded why I chose to become a veterinarian in the first place.

Good for you!

What about those who exhale directly into the faces of their pets and it does not involve medical care?

Why ask him? I asked your opinion about those who blow smoke directly into the face of their pet when no medical intervention is in progress?

Well since you asked me..In the 70s I lived downtown, my roommate had a dog with 2 broken legs and we used to get it stoned all the time.It was far better than the pain killers the vet gave us.It was able to sleep better and didnt whine near as much..Also pain killers do a serious number on your digestion system..It was to difficult for the dog to poop on pain killers but just fine on weed..Same with humans..Pain killers [which are available to me by the jars because of my bone injuries and replacements, and reconstruction ] are far from safe for daily use and make you have so many other problems.

Pot doesnt have all the bodily system issues that pain killers do.Pot is way safer..It keeps me off real man made pain killers that will eventually kill you.

And I havent drank in 15 years so dont go in to the party guy BS..

Same thing as those who feed beer to their pets to watch them stumble around and puke. They're stoopid. Two different subjects. Marijuana as a medical treatment for pets vs idiots who mistreat their animals.

If you didn't read it and don't like him then why did you respond to him?

Okay, Imo it is no worse then feeding a dog table scraps.Maybe not even that bad. Only animal I've blown pot smoke into was a human animal that wanted it. AKA "Shotgunning" a joint. That was twenty plus years ago.

Actually, I bet you and Sniper share more than a knowledge of weed.
I am sure we do.We both play a mean game of pool. I don't even know that for sure. From what he tells me he plays pool in the APA as a level 4 player. That works for me as I am a level 4 APA player and a level 8 BCA pool player.

As for a knowledge of smoking weed I will have to say sniper knows more then I. My thing is to make hemp legal for making all kinds of useful things.Hemp would put thousands and thousands of Americans back to work.
