This is amazing. I wish they would have had something like this years ago when I was in school. Being almost 40, I admire any teenager or young person that can wait until he/she is married to have sex. This is a beautiful thing and should be saved for the one you marry.

And a gay man can't change his orientation. Either way gang the Christian religion is dying out. You guys find peace in it and that is great. As a therapist I'll continue helping those people who are recovering from the addiction to religion like you have, and I am sure your children will be in my office too. I won't dare pass out any condoms or teach them what they are for!

Best of luck, and remember if it makes you happy it can't be that bad!

Couldn't agree more! Eventually we will have those rights but either way I think that this pressure is stupid because if you keep kids away from something long enough they will go overboard with it and then you will have a whole new problem

Typical lefties who are for free sex, and babies having babies. They'll make fun of peoples attempts/pledges to staying pure... but in the same breath tell everyone they must be Politically correct and tolerant of this or that other religion.
Remember YOU (the christian) MUST be 'tolerant' of gays, drugs, sex etc.. but THEY (the mega-liberal-isaurus types) can make fun of your faith all they want etc..
They're hypocrites, and to top it off.. they're actually promoting THEIR kids having sex at early ages with multiple people. Since they most likely "believe" in evolution, this is sort of ironic... natural selection taking place among the athiest secular progressives....since their kids will be the ones dying of aids, getting herpes, HPV... while the christian people will be having multiple healthy children once they're married.
Eventually liberals will reap what they sow... and its not just STD's that will eliminate a lot of these people, but also their drug use, alcohol abuse, violence, and general debauchery that will ultimately lead to their destruction.
A plethora of reasons exists as to why they make fun of those who don't conform to their secular progressive free sex for everyone above the age of 12 mentality. But rest assured fellow christians/abstainers, the downright balderdash of the naysayers is blatently obvious---
Just listen to their arguement for why abstainence souldn't be advocated...
Argument #1 "we weren't able to keep our pants on as kids, so why should we expect our kids to"
Argument #2 "Sex feels good, so why not allow our kids to do it"
Argument #3 " most people don't have enough self control to practice abstainence, therefore we should just promote sex with the use of a .10mm piece of plastic (which we know can break easily, and doesn't stop HPV/Herpes/Scabies which can be in the pubic area)
So basically the red herrings that the pro-teen-kid-sexers use are nothing but a bunch of whiny drivel based upon their own moral failings --- and lack of willpower.
Were you dropped a lot as a baby?

How sad that these children are getting sucked into something so misguided. The Yale study also found that not only do the 85% end up breaking this pledge, but when they do so, it is without adequate knowledge of birth control or STD prevention.

In the end, the majority of these kids will fail at their mission. They will be full of guilt and shame and feel like failures. Their parents will make them feel awsful. Sex is normal and good, they are not failures.

Tari, honey, they don't wait. They SAY they'll wait. And they say a lot of things... but actions speak louder than words. Why marry someone you have no knowledge of? What if it turns out you are hopelessly incompatible? What then? Suffer like a martyr?

Don't worry about it, Jim! In their eyes you are an abomination and were never pure to begin with! They'd burn me at the stake if only they could get away with it, so I don't mind if they don't "bless" my choices.

SEX IS A BEAUTIFUL THING!!!
i pledged that i will stay pure till marriage and i know i will..the only reason ppl make fun of it is because they know they would never have the kind of strength to hold back...but guess what life isn't about SEX..it doesn't revolve around it..God has given me the strength to stay pure and i know i will..my husband will be the first guy i have sex with and im proud of that..i have enough self control and confidence to stand up for what i believe in..

ewww... Mike, you give right wing zealots a bad name... who ever said someone who has sex outside of marriage is necessarily doing so without respect, birth control, STD protection, or good judgement? Just because they are smart enough to know that these kind of Fanatic pledges aren't worth the tissue paper they're based on? Stop sharing your bile with the rest of the world. We see your kind coming a mile away.

You are right, sex is the best thing in the world, which is why, like everything else worth having, it should be respected and taken seriously. God wants you to have the greatest sex you can have! That means inside of one monogamous relationship for life. As weird as it sounds, if you do the research (and yes, research funded by public, non religious studies, too) you'll see the people who report having the best sex are married Christians. And, you'll find the staggering rate of STD's and pregancies are not helping anyone. Sex is the most wonderful thing in the world! And, it's worth protecting yourself from the pain it can cause when not treated as the most wonderful thing in the world. But, no matter what else is said or done, you are loved more than you can ever know...no matter what.

Joan and Jim, I am so sorry, on behalf of all Christendom for the awful things that Christians have said and done to make you feel worth less than anyone else, or that you are somehow a lesser person. You are not! Christ would NEVER have said that either. He befriended prostitutes, theives and all kinds of people who felt that they were less than wanted by society. He would befriend you today. Most Christians would not like to "burn" anyone at the stake, but unfortunately they are not the ones making the papers. Please know that you are loved, just for being made, by so many people.

Meg,
Get a clue. It's a proven fact that gay people are gay from genetics, not by choice. Remember these people are gods children too. One of my ex-girlfriends turned into a lesbian right before my eyes. She tried to be straight but couldn't. I also waited until the age of 37 to get married. Why did I wait? So I would make a smart decision and help offset the 50% chance of getting divorced. Guess what? I'm still 37 and I'm getting divorced, less than 6 months after getting married to the woman I was with for 3 years. You think I should have waited until the age of 37 to have sex? I would love to see any one of these teenagers wait until their 30's. Remember Brook Shields, the poster woman of wait until I'm married? That didn't work out so well when she was turning 30 and not married. She came out of the closet and admitted to having sex, when she was still single. These kids will realize who they really are once they move away from home, and get away from their psycho parents.

Are you sure it isn't the other way around? We are all beautiful in His eyes- you must not think highly of yourself. Just because you didn't wait and made that mistake- doesn't mean that others are wrong for making that choice.
His eyes? Ummmmm... I am straight! Why would I want a dude to think I am good looking? Like I stated prior, Only Ugly people pledge. Let me add another group, bible humpers!

It isn't pressure from their parents- or their school- in fact, most parents encourage their kids to live with that person before marriage. It is something that is a personal choice. Just like it was your choice to be gay.
Jim, let me handle this crazy lady! No She did n!

Why would people choose to be hated by bible humpers and George Bush? Are you insane Meg? Insane?

Let me guess... I bet you want Jim to be admitted into "Haggards 3 week clinic and your straight!" You are brainwashed lady! Go do something nice for someone please and stop being crazy!

How very typical - thanks for the patronizing BS! I DONT feel "less than" - especially those of you who take it upon yourselves to speak for crazy hatefilled delusionals...oh, Christians - sorry! I never have felt less than - but you jumped right to that didn't you - because I stated my opinion of how someone else has regarded me. Thanks for the parental "approval". Save it for your sheep.
