Just another example of why we need drastic immigration reform in this country. Now their status is causing tax problems for our military and those who are here legally. Why should those who are legal have to choose how to file their taxes? It's all BS! Here's a good idea, if they want to become ciitizens so badly, have THEM serve in the military. What better way to show how much you love America. This IRS problem is only the tip of the iceberg where illegals are concerned. GO HOME!! WE DON"T WANT YOU HERE!!

Our generous govt was hoping that we would go out and spend these rebate check as if we were a bunch of welfare recipients that just hit the daily doulble. Instead, we'll probably spend it on our daily essentials. Too bad - if we had spent it, as intended, it would have provided a temporary boost to the economies of Japan and China (that's where most everything is produced).
Also, many people's check was prorated because they made over a certian threshold. I guess the govt figured the educated wouldn't have been as apt to go out and blow it.

Yet another reason why I call for legal immigrants to AUTOMATICALLY get a social security number when they come into this country, so shit like this doesn't happen.

This is also the reason why I say that anyone who marries a American citizen and SAYS married to them for more than a year, or is even just in a relationship with them for over a year, living together, should get automatic dual-citizenship.

Another dismal failure of our national leadership.Another boondoggle created by the knownothings at Washington D.C.We all know what they should have done. They should have calculated the total amount to be given away, then sent equal shares to the governments of Japan,China,India,Tiwan and all the other countries that will eventually recieve it anyway.I think i'll apply for a national leadership position.

A military family with three children doesn't need the money? What planet are you living on? Last I heard, soldiers don't make very much.

The title of this article should be ammended at the end to say "US tax rebates denied to many.......BUT MORE get other government benefits who are completely ineligible."
Free Emergency Room care and anchor babies, free public schooling, food stamps and welfare obtained through fraud and fake SSID's......the list could go on forever. Where is the balance to this article? I forgot.....this is the Sunpapers!

Should have never had a "Stimulus Package". The gov needs to stop trying to bail out people/corporations. It costs the country more than it benefits.

The system is really is not fair and it becomes apparent now that there are stimulus packages getting shafted. My wife and son have not been able to enter the US as their petitions although approved has no available visa numbers. As a result I was informed by my accountant firm that I had to file taxes as single and am in a higher tax bracket since I am classified as single.

Maybe that is why I got $600 instead of $1500 as legally I am married and have a child, both whom I am supporting.

Among the persons left out are the people who pay 80% of the taxes, People who make beyond the income cutoff. We are not rich we have our own families to support. We pay the same gas and electric rates and gas prices as everyone else.

It doesn’t take long for foreigners from a third world country to pick up the “Give me, Give Me, handout attitude.” It isn’t enough that we saved your sorry @$$e$ from poverty and placed you in a good job that an American could have easily filled. Maybe, if you stopped sending half your freaking salary back home to support a family of twenty, you wouldn’t need a rebate check.

Oh Well, I'm qute sure tey will get over it. It's not like it's a big gesture. Believe me you will be paying far more in taxes this year then what the rebate is worth. Keep on living.

Congress is in session. Let them get off their sorry asses and fix this so that people entitled can get their money.

"Too bad - if we had spent it, as intended, it would have provided a temporary boost to the economies of Japan and China (that's where most everything is produced)."

They're not losing out. Where do you think we're borrowing the money to enact this boondoggle?

How in the hell could anyone even consider giving an illegal immigrant tax refunds? This Government is even dumber then I could have ever imagined.... What a bunch of losers we have running this sorry country. And if anything the soldiers should get at least double the tax return for protecting these sorry idiots screwing this country up...
