Judged: 1 1 1 Idiot. Germany and Japan do not have any nuclear weapons. How do you rise against something you can"t win? Well americans and russians won because of nuclear weapons. |

Were they heading to the base in a military vehicle or speeding along in a performance car? Typical Newsday reporting.

Judged: 2 How do you speed on the Autobahn? It's a hundred gazillion mph to begin with. Actually, it's more like 80. But still- |

Judged: 1 1 1 Research and you will find that the "No Speed Limit" areas on the autobahn are limited. Posted speed limits are enforced on MUCH of the Autobahn. Has been that way for years! I know when I was staioned over in Germany in the '80's much of autobahn 3 had speed limits. Just an FYI... BTW, I am so sorry to hear about these soldiers. It is never pleasant to lose a comrade in arms! |

Judged: 1 1 Actually, you have to pay attention to the ever-changing speeds posted on their info signs in several areas. Prudent speed should also be used for the conditions at the time. It’s not the free-for-all that many think it is. I should have originally questioned if they were driving at a reasonable rate of speed at the time of the crash. |

From the stars and stripes Spc Michael S Clark was 22 and the youngest of the 3 that died. I hope that stars and stripe answers somethings for you. May God be with you and your family during this time of sorrow. |

And to correct my first comment Spc Laron Gadson had just came back from Iraq.

Judged: 1 1 1 What was more interesting than the car they were driving (an Audi) were the headline and some of the statements. “All five soldiers recently returned from Iraq; alcohol believed to play role in crash“ “The doctor who did first aid said he smelled alcohol,” “The five male soldiers were traveling toward Kaiserslautern early Sunday in a rented Audi station wagon when the car drove off the side of Autobahn 63, causing the vehicle to flip and eject everyone” It’s a damn shame that some of our soldiers would behave in such a way. |

Judged: 2 2 1 Unless you've been deployed to a war zone for the last 15 months I don't really think you have a right to question how our soldiers act upon their return. They've been away from family, friends and anything that is familiar to them for a long time. They've seen things we cannot imagine, experienced events that will scar them for life, and lost people who are close to them. These soldiers live with their units as families and losing three of them in such a close knit community is a tragedy and does not warrant criticism of their behavior. One of these men was my son's driver during this deployment and he was very close to him. He spoke at his memorial service and felt the loss of the soldiers deeply. This is a sad time for everyone who knew these fine young men and they deserve the respect of all of us - no matter how they died. |

Judged: 1 For your information, the driver was not drinking. He was the designated driver for the other 4 soldiers. I don't know if the others were drinking, but I know from an eye witness that talked to Mike Clark between 5:30-6:00 that morning that the driver was not drinking. I really think you need to hold all your negative comments to yourself. I ask that you please keep all family in your prayes because you don't understand the situation or the feelings we are having at this moment. I also will pray that God give you knowledge and understanding and the correct words to say about this situation that has happened to these fallen Soldiers. |
