British bomb forces evacuation of German town
Nearly half the city of Koblenz, Germany are under evacuation orders after local officials discovered what they are calling one of the largest unexploded bombs ever found.

During World War II I was a resident of Koblenz-Pfaffendorf, walking-distance away from where the bomb was found. I am 81 years old now and remember all the air raids with horror. It is a memory that has shaped my life with hate for war. No citizen should be exposed to the daily fear of losing ones life. I want to express my deep admiration for the people involved in defusing the bombs. It was a herculean task with disregard for own safety. I am relieved all went well and hope that further discoveries will be handled with equal expertise.Congratulations, Koblenz
