Ground broken for solar plant in ABQ

A German company broke ground Monday on a plant in Albuquerque that will manufacture solar equipment.

Wow a solar manufacturing plant that pays less than burger king... Why not just bulldoze the west side, run a pipeline in from the gulf and build a desalination plant- it would be a great fit with new mexico's uneducated labor force; all they have to do is stand around and watch water evaporate- And it would be less toxic than solar cell production while solving our impending water supply crisis

It's apparent when reading about renewable and clean tech that the industry is booming. Here in California they are providing good jobs to educated and noneducated alike. The key for NM's deal with Schott is who is doing the employee training and paying for it. the state or the company or both. If they pay in the mid-teens (not unreasonable for a company with revenues in Euros), provide some transparency with waste, and some education it would be a good opportunity for you people. Then again it's a large company which may be big on vision, low on execution. i work for one so i know they're out there...
