Islam will rule all the countries in the world, by sword and fire.

All women will have their clitoris cut, and the men will have at least ten wifes.

The women that will not obey their husbands or sleep with many different partners will be stoned to death.

All women will be properly dresshed and the only part that will not be covered will be their eyes.

The men that steal or commit crimes will have their arms cut off.

THAT IS THE ISLAMIC AND TURKISH LAW!

Get ready to adopt it in all Europe.

You can have many cultures - but you can have only one form of government, and one legal system, and one concept of what is right and wrong to fit with this legal system. If you stray from this maxim, chaos ensues.

Also,a society, for the sake of efficiency and peace, must have a common cultural background. This does not mean everyone must be of the same culture, but that everyone must have a common knowledge of a "core" or "main" culture, as well as there own. Much of what we say, and an understanding of our values, comes from this common knowledge.

So one would know their original language and history, proverbs, colloquialism, etc.,as well as all of this from the "core" or "main" culture. Thus everyone would have a common background for mutual understanding.

It is not possible to reverse this and have everyone learn all the other languages and histories in existence in a country - there is neither the time, money, will, nor ability.

An interesting and well respected writer on this is E.D. Hirsch, author of the Dictionary of Cultural Literacy. Check it out:

A problem with multi-culturalism is that everyone must live under the laws and traditions of one culture and some refuse. Not always adopt the traditions, but atleast adapt to them.

If the various cultures were willing to say, "Hey, I will keep alive my traditions as far as food, family events, etc., but I chose to come here because it offered opportunities my homeland did not, and thus must be doing something right, and it is only polite and logical to adapt to my hosts ways", there would be no problem. In fact, many cultures do accept this view, and fit nicely into our system.

Now here is the problem: a particular culture (can you guess which one?)despite the fact they have come to a place that is much safer, less corrupt, easier to do well in, and didn't have to take them in but did so out of the kindness of it's humanity, insists despite all logic, that the government and people around them adopt their ways.

Very good, to the point post!
What annoys me extremely is that Turks in Germany-by word-of-mouth propaganda--call themselves "The New Jews of Germany".
They never miss an opportunity to remind us of Hitler (denying vigirously any guilt about their own atrocities, viz. the Armenian genocide).
There is no reason for the Germans of today to feel guilty of what some monster did 60 to 70 years ago. But violence is in everyone. The Europeans came here to America and practically all the American Indians over GREED,it wasn't right but I do not feel guilty over it,nor do I feel guilty over the slave days. Don't feel guilty over something you had nothing to do with.
