The article is nonsense. As the author compares the relationship between Ireland and Germany as a failed marriage with - of course - Ireland as the victim the truth is very different. Germany has supported Ireland for a very long time and Ireland became wealthy in the process. But you cannot demand that the almost 300mil people using the Euro must follow Irish interests. Of course the 82mil Germans have a much bigger impact. Ireland would be in the position of Iceland without the Euro. With all savings wiped out.
The Euro probably saved Europe from the worst, a lot of people seem to forget that.
