What does their weight have to do with anything, wouldn't a fat couple taint the water too ?

and have you ever seen what other things are done in other water supplies?

Although it seems perhaps a bit unsavory, two people skinny dipping ARE NOT going to jeopardize an entire water supply. This is water that is already processed and treated for distribution?? What about birds, reptiles and fish. I'll relatewhat W.C. Fields said about drinking water.'Not me, Fish f@#$ in it"

Huh? Are you talking about the term skinny dipping? If so it means swimming with no clothes on. Nothing to do with weight =)

So 2 people swimming in it could possibly ruin 22 million gallons of water but it would be hard for someone to intentionally poison the water?

Am I missing something?

Agreed Allen, @ people swimming in it are the end of the world. Terrorist trying to poison it is simply harmless. Moronic statement.

Officials say adamantly that it would be nearly impossible for terrorists to poison 22 million gallons of water to the point where people would be infected, but yet they would dump all that water because 2 naked people were swimming in it. WHATEVER!!!! What a crock. Sounds like government BS to me.

I find it hard to believe that two people swimming in the water are worse than all the birds the let it loose into the water and what about all the insects that get in the water?

That makes no sense. Certainly there is the "ick" factor in thinking about naked humans playing around in the drinking water, but the reality is that prior to the filtration or chlorination of raw water to make it potable, there's all sorts of yucky stuff in the reservoirs...from dead fish to goose poop to soil, decaying plant life, what have you.

If officials insist that it would take a lot to contaminate 22 million gallons of water to the point of affecting people, then what's the concern that two people skinny dipping would make the water unsafe all about? Doesn't seem to make sense.

Birds don't fly over and leave their "calling cards"? Animals don't swim in it, or fall in? It seems to me that the reaction to this was a little extreme.

If according to authorities "...would be tough to poison 22 million gallons of water to the point where people would be affected." What makes them think the actions of two skinny dippers would have any affect on 22 million gallons of water supply enough to affect anyone? This doesnt make sense. I think this is just an example of over reaction to a poor choice of action. jeeze.......if poison couldnt hurt anyone how would you ever think that humans in the water in the nude would?

Give me a break
