The small tire shops are pointers in where this is done. I've heard of all areas around town - especially Oak Cliff

I know of places that do this. They just hook the machine up to something else and then put the good sticker on the old beat up car that won't pass.

No doubt, there are a lot of illegal Mexicans in Oak Cliff. If they can get fake I.D.'s and fake Social Security cards getting fake inspection stickers should be a snap.

yea and the city should stop selling all there 200,000 plus mile cars also and stop the auction of any cars it picks up on the hwy and just crush them. i have seen my share of cars that should not be on the road.
300,000 thousand sticker on the road adds up to alot of money they did not collect. And while i am at it what about all those fake dealer plates when are they cracking down on that?

I am surprised that they are finally going to take action! This has been going on a long, long time. Too long!

I've seen vehicles on the roads that simply can't pass inspection the legal way. Get them off the road!

Please don't get me started about the illegals. You realize that with them having baby after baby after fricken baby, the booming population will soon have us pressing 2 for English?

When I was in Dallas a few weeks ago a lot of people were doing around 90 miles/hour on freeway, I should hope these vehicles were passing inspection. I was the slow one from Tennessee poking along at 70.

I did, it's alot safer. When I lived in Dallas in the past the speed limit was 55 although people were doing 65. That was alot safer than what it is now. Now back when I lived in Dallas I drove a huge 1967 Coupe Deville Cadillac and when I merged onto the freeway the people in those zippy small cars would let me in, no problem. But I had a heck of a time in my father's 1968 Volkswagon bus with the 4 cylinder. It would have helped if somebody got behind the bus and pushed.

Hey I say if the state of texas can make us pay almost $40 for a sticker, then why can't someone get over on them back.

My husband just got a ticket for a fake inspection sticker on a 2003 Tahoe, it does not matter what year your vehicle is, they give you a sticker and dont enter the info to the state and pocket your money.. Everyone should be aware of this practice.. The law can take your vehicle as well if they find a fake inspection sticker on it...
The Tahoe passed inspection TODAY, it has always passed, when the sherrif can the tags it said the Tahoe had not been ispected since 2006..
Keep your records on the inspection you have done so that if you do get pulled over for a fake one you have the place of business and address that you went too..
If they dont give you the paper work when inspection is done then you know it is FAKE....

that's what we have jaills for.
give them 6 mos or year in jail and that will stop most of it.
anyone will do it when it cost a arm and a leg to get the auto inspected.
it should not cost over 20 bucks. for the inspection.
all it is, is a added tax.

The inspection sticker is a joke. I can't count the number of times I have been told that I could get an inspection sticker for $75 regardless if it passed or not. Ray is right. It shouldn't cost so much either. Some stations use this an opportunity to sell things that really don't need to be changed, like the windshield wipers. I have been denied because of wipers, that worked fine. Soon everything will be against the law or regulated.

This has happened to me in Plano one time long ago. They said the windshield wipers needed replacing and they were going to charge me $20.00 just for labor on putting them on. I drove off and went to the parts store and put them on myself but when I came back to finish the inspection they made me wait one hour although there were no other customers.
They said there was a crack in the wipers but they must have had bionic eyeballs because I did not see anything.
We don't have inspections where I live although at times I wish they had. I seen this one car that looked like a tree came down on top of it, shaped like an "U", literally. Hood was off, windshield out, life in the country.

For me, its cheaper to get a ticket. Every time i to to one of the so called name brand place's in Tyler, they "always" find something wrong and last two years its cost me $250 each time to get an inspection sticker. The fine for an inspection sticker is $40. If i get a ticket every quarter I'm still coming out the same? And by the way, my truck is not a piece of junk that needs crushing! With the nation and State economy as it is, better watch out, the State needs "revenue!"
