curious wrote: Can you be a PT and serve as shop steward? Yes You Can. You can be a shop steward for your local, and represent The prem techs, they need steward as eyes and ears in every garage, contact your local and speak with your business agent. Many pt's in the garage do not pass inside 411 to the union and without that the local does not know what is really going on.

Although the poem was not serious, it was fun, why did you not see that maybe you should slow down and loosen a couple of your Uverse shirt buttons. Yes there is no room for fun or jokes, but I seem to defy that, management does not like it, and too bad, "it is what is is"

Does anybody know whats going on with CWA? I'm with IBEW in the Midwest and it seems like they're going the same route as CWA did in April?

They should just take prem techs and installation and repair and merge the two job titles.

Good benefits, stability, have protection from corporate abuse --WHY????? Because of the union. They will still need us. They're working the shit out of them and us at the moment. You need to do some research before you make yourself look like an idiot on here. I want more money, better treatment and an overall better job. The only reason theres so many premise techs bitching here is cause they aren't protected by the union OR are under a current shitty contract. Sounds to me like your afraid to hook a pole or go up a ladder. That's the fun, shit STUPID!!!!

POTS lines and DSL service will be a thing of the past. Why are InR techs allowed to repair their installs but Prem Techs cant repair theirs? Uverse is the future, the only reasonable solution is to merge Installation and Repair and Prem Techs, that way we both share a Core Contract, good pay, benefits and protection, and the company gets to save money by only paying 1 tech per job instead of two.

Lets all network outside the union and coordinate a walk out on our own. We voted in favor for a strike? If this is the case than we should have voted it down, so lets stop waiting on this slow boat to China and I say lets take matters in our own hands. I say Strike and bite this company in their God given Balls, I feel like a pawn in a modern day electronic sweatshop,. and I am not the only one. We built this network, and we can tear it down as well. Lets give true meaning to the phrase " The Wild Wild West"! Thats my 2 cents!!!

I'm afraid if we did that we would all be out of a job in the end, or am I wrong? I personally can not afford to be unemployed.

I had opportunity to speak with a CWA delegate yesterday, and without going into specific details, it was clearly told to me how bad the negotiations really are, he exclaimed that the negotiatons with AT&T are so disgustingly bad and how AT&T is not cpmpling and holding their position in a brute way, lots of explicitives used but wont quote them, so not being so surprised, I just replied, well maybe it's time to strike, what are we now waiting for,... didnt get an answer, maybe one soon looms
