I think in Texas it's hard to get a fair trial. A book was written about the case, and the writer says Darlie had some bad cuts and bruises that were not explained. I don't see how they overlooked that, but apparently they did. I think the husband was involved. Just hope and pray the TRUTH comes out.

I think Darlie should get every chance everyone else gets. What I don't understand is how others charged with equally heinous crimes get such ridiculously light sentences, or are deemed "not guilty by reason of insanity". If she is guilty as charged I have no problem with the DP but just make "damn sure" she is actually guilty. If she's executed and later it is found she was not actually guilty it could cause an outcry against the death penalty itself rather than a particular misapplication of it. There's plenty out there that richly deserve it, and they should not escape it if they are in fact guilty just because of procedural errors or technicalities.

Oh come on, Moms don't kill their kids! She couldn't have done this....I mean, she lived in a nice house and has lots of jewelry and stuff, nice cars, nice restaurants and trips. She takes care of her body (back then she did). She couldn't have done this! Nice husband, 3 cute kids. She couldn't have done this! No way no how! Slit the throats of her two little boys and watched them choke to death on their own blood. She couldn't have done it! And her nice husband couldn't have helped!
Keep repeating this to yourselves those who can't believe she did it. Maybe you'll convince yourself.
I'm convinced she did it. Eyes for lies blog has a piece on Darlie that's interesting. Check it out-sorry I don't have the link. Just google it.

Give the DNA test and that will be the convincer of guilt or innocent. After all several have been sent to prison who were proven innocent and some proven guilty. The test will solve that question.

That DNA test is the last test you want to ask for if you are guilty. It can slam that cell door shut permenently. with no chance of further appeals

We have always believed the husband did it, and she is innocent...that is why he stood by her...guilt! And, yes, I too know that all the carpets were changed out, so there is no outright blood to be seen unless you have a blue light.

No, I do not believe she did it. I never have and get grief every time the subject comes up in conversation - since I still live in the area it still comes up pretty often. I believe there was information withheld from the defense and from the jury - like the photos from the hospital for starters. In my opinion it appeared to be a sort of "gang initiation" attack you see on Law And Order; no apparent reason, nothing of value taken, nothing left behind - just 2 dead precious little boys. We now call that a Home Invasion. There was also a new so-called "gang" that had inserted itself into the Rockwall ISD at the time - only the high school as far as I knew. That fact was not mentioned in any publications I read. Nor were many locals aware of it - only those who's children were involved/arrested or were being pursued by the so-called gang members - and they were asked to not to tell other parents as to not cause alarm, they claimed. Some would call it a coincidence. If so then why wasn't it mentioned in her defense? Or the newspapers? Yes, they acted weird. How would you react to that trauma? Truth is, you don't know until womething that horrible happens to you. Holliston wrote: It's been 12 years since Darlie Routier was sentenced to death. I'm writing a follow-up to her case on ZeroGossip.com . My question to you in Rowlett: After all these years, do you think the verdict was correct? If so, why. If not, why not? Also looking to talk to anyone who knows or knew Darlie well...good or bad. Holliston@zerogossip.com

It is a good thing that peoples express their opinion. This affair has almost turned out to be a debate which shows that peoples care and think, whatever their position might be.
But it is impossible to have justice unless the parties involved: Police, DA office and defense Attorneys stick to the rules of Law. That's what counts, the LAW.!
Police are often violating the suspects rights from the beginning to obtain the ultimate evidence: a confession. This causes hindrance to the prosecution. The DA often is not candid with the defense and they must corroborate their assertions of guilt which they not always do. The defense often relies on judicial tricks and blame their opponents which is no defense.
Therefore unless everybody does its job professionally and serves the Law as intended, Justice will remain elusive. However the burden of proof rests with the prosecution. The Routier case was bungled from the get go. She should be retried . Anne Brewbaker-Dallas
