5 men riding around with baseball bats at 2am in the morning (instead of chasing women) speaks volumes about homopohobia driving people insane

Again, this defies logic. Gay men have by default removed themselves from the pursuit for a woman's attention.

Shouldn't these guys be turning on each other to establish dominance and breeding rights?

So now the Dallas Texas police detectives are looking for 5 homophobes driving a Buick with 24-inch rims parked next to a baseball diamond
.
They'll never find them

So what makes you think two guys minding their own business are more likely to have and use a concealed weapon than five ass holes looking for trouble? What makes you think a concealed gun would provide protection when somebody behind you just broke your skull with a baseball bat?

Not everyone is comfortable with using a gun to protect themselves. Those people are better off without them. And even for those who are comfortable, they're not as effective as proponents imagine.

I simply believe EVERYONE needs to be responsible for their own protection. I've lived in very safe neighborhoods and some very dicey ones, but I would NEVER walk to the store at 2 am without carrying my 9mm. The first step in not being a crime victim is ensuring you can protect yourself. If you're not willing or able to do so, then you're setting yourself up to become a victim.

Well, if it's an area known for "trouble" better to be safe than sorry.
Comfortable or not, it's a far better thing than winding up dead because of bat wielding homophobes AND if it became well known that homophobes attacking others end up getting shot, odds are it would drive down the issue.
As far as the "effectiveness" goes, they only have to be effective ONCE.

I wouldn't be walking in that neighborhood at 2pm! That used to be a nice neighborhood 10 years ago and then drugs and gangs ran businesses from the area.
Still doesn't give anyone the right to attack someone else just because they are gay! Hope they find these guys, by the description of the car that may take awhile.

...this is why we moved to the 'burbs. In Bedford we enjoy peace and quiet in an established neighborhood. Our neighbors are a mix of retirees and working families. Very friendly toward us (we're a couple) but mostly mind their own business.

Crime in the city is just for fun. Look at Oaklawn. It isn't what it used to be because people are moving to safer areas.
