Why do they let these perverts work in the kind of business where they can get away with it? And why does it take over a year for something to be done about it? It seems that the victim is treated like a criminal more often than not, and the pervert gets away with it again and again. This guy should have his you know what cut off.

There are some interesting comments made by alleged former employees of 6 Day Dental! We were not aware that they had specific "weekly quotas" to meet as to how many of a specific procedure/speciality had to be completed by each of the different specialists within that practice. I can see how that could easily become an ethical issue...keeping all of the main types of dental specialties under one roof. The more specialized treatment that the patient needs, the more revenue that is going to be generated for one "supermart-style" dental office. "Sure you need braces, Mrs. Smith, I would like you to see our own in-house orthodontist for a consultation." Or how about, "Yes, you do need to have extensive gum surgery. Let's let Dr. Periospecialist here in our own office take care of you!" There's a "checks and balances" system that seems to be lacking in this type of mega-group practice.
Regarding the dentist who has been indicted...if you are wrongly prosecuted, then my heart goes out to you and your family, as even a non-guilty verdict will probably not erase the deterimental and devistating impact this negative publicity will bring to your career. And if you're guilty, then shame on you and off to jail you should go!
Hey, I don't like those "supermart-style" dental offices either but be honest. Dental offices are businesses and all businesses have goals. I guarantee you have daily and weekly goals for your practice. Please do not perpetuate unfounded public misconceptions about dentistry.

New Details In Dentist Office Sexual Assault Case
COPPELL (CBS 11 News) ― An arrest warrant affidavit released Wednesday gives disturbing new details about a North Texas dentist accused of sexually assaulting one of his patients.
Dr. Spencer Page has been indefinitely placed on unpaid leave from 6 Day Dental and Orthodontics in Coppell and Flower Mound. Page was arrested Tuesday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 21-year-old woman at the Flower Mound office, located on 6050 Long Prairie Road.
While under the influence of the sedatives halcyon and nitrous oxide, the document states the victim recalls being assaulted by both Dr. Page and a dental assistant.
The document also states the doctor placed his hand inside her pants and the dental assistant placed his hand up her shirt.
According to the affidavit she was able to move their hands, but she became so upset, she started vomiting.
After she vomited, the procedure continued and she recalled the dentist placed his hand up her shirt and under her bra – the document states. She again moved his hand.
At one point, according to the affidavit, the girl reported being alone with the dental assistant.
After the procedure she told her parents, who confronted the doctor and the assistant. Both deny any wrong doing.
In the document, Page stated he took x-rays and placed his hand on the lead vest on her chest.
Investigators say male DNA was located on both the woman's underwear and her bra. The dental assistant provided DNA, but Dr. Page refused.
While the incident reportedly happened on March 23, 2007, Dr. Page was just arrested Tuesday, April 22, 2008. Flower Mound police say because of the nature of the crime, it took nearly a year to build a strong enough case for an arrest warrant.
Flower Mound police say there wasn't enough evidence against the male dental assistant. He quit working at the office in August of 2007.
Dr. Page has a defense attorney. He has already met with the district attorney's office and is awaiting an upcoming court date.

Very true, I agree...dental offices are businesses, however, the goal should be to offer the best and most ideal treatment to the patient, not to make sure you meet a goal of "100 crowns per month" or "five root canal treatments per week"! I know I'm not going to recommend unnecessary treatment to my patients in order to keep my production numbers up. If you've been in practice for some years, you know as well as I do that, unfortuanetly, there are those out there who's best interest is not the well-being of the patient, but how profitable their practice can be. I don't think that person was "perpetrating unfounded public misconceptions about dentistry", I think he was pointing out that there can be a very real issue here with the structure of those "mega" dental offices, not necessarily that they're ALL that way, but the public should be careful.

This guy is a real loser. He was my dentist after my dentist retired. He did some dental work on me and referred me to another dentist to do special work on me. After that work was completed I was to go back to him. During this time Dr. Page just up and left Arlington. He never gave notice to me, my husband or a friend of ours(all patients of his) that he was moving. He abandoned me and left me with thousands of dollars for me to pay to finish the work. Not only did I have to get another dentist, Dr. Page never returned any of our calls. If he was such a good Dentist he should of notified all his patients that he was moving.
I know for a fact that he has had complaints sent to the State Board of Dental Examiners over a year ago and they have done nothing to take his license away from him. Maybe if they had, he would not of been able to do any sexual assaults. Where is our protection from the State Board of Dental Examiners????? If one, just one person has a complaint, they need to find out what is going on and not just file it away.
It seems to me that he has been a bad apple of dentistry far to long and it finally got him. I feel bad for the women he assaulted. I hope and pray that the State Board steps up to the plate and takes his license away for good.

I to am a former patient of Dr. Paige's .He took over when my dentist of many years retired. I had no idea he had left till I was sent a letter from him telling me where he was and come see him . But if I wanted my records he was charging way more than he should to get them . I checked and he could legally charge that much because that was the max he could charge . But I also know of other dealings with his business. I did not care for him and was in the process of finding another dentist when he left . Was a blessing to me . Yes, I believe he could do what he is charged with .Just glad I was rid of him .

I see your point and would guess that there are just as many private dentists over-charging and over-diagnosing. Unfortunately, the caries detection process is subjective, leaving variability between dentists. Not to mention a paradigm shift from "watch and wait" to proactive dentistry. But anyhow, we are veering from the topic at hand. Please allow our justice system to work and the truth will come out. I really don't see any connection between the current allegations and Dr. Page moving offices.

I'm not quite sure what to think since there was male DNA on her bra and underwear and Dr. Page refused to give a DNA sample. If he is innocent, why would he refuse?

I find this little chatter very interesting. All these people that are so quick to throw a potential innocent or guilty man under the bus. Is this not supposed to be the great country unlike others that every citizen should have a FAIR trial. What gets me is how everyone that has ever had any disagreement with Dr Page now can relate it to him "being a pervert" .... I hope that if someone does not see eye to eye with you on ONE thing or the other when (maybe something as simple as you cutting them off in traffic) that when they relate this somehow to you being a pervert you will be fine with this. People PLEASE if he is guilty let him have his day he will be judged - if he is not please let the man be - he has a family - for God's sake have a heart (and a brain)!...let him/her amongst us without sin cast the first stone!...and oh yeah i forgot the cops have never ever arrested anyone over zealously and incorrectly!... so he has to be guilty!

I have personally worked with Dr. Spencer Page and never say never. I know of at least one other accusation by a young girl that was made and there wasn't enough evidence to arrest him in that case. To answer the question "Isn't there always a dental assistant in the room"? No. There is NOT ALWAYS an assistant in the room. I have also PERSONAL heard Dr. Page say that he would tell a patient she needed braces even though she didn't because she had the money to pay for them and he needed at least one referral per week to the Ortho side of the business. People 6 Day Dental is a bunch of crooks. If you don't believe....I encourage you to chat with their former employees. I have no doubt that if the grand jury found enough evidence to arrest him that he is guilty.
I to am an ex-employee of 6 Day Dental and Orthodontics. I worked with Dr. Page briefly. Is it possible that these allegations/charges are true? Anything is possible. To the people who say you have known him since he was a child; I understand your frustration with all of the allegations but please understand that you do not know what goes on behind closed doors (so to speak). People are not always what they seem on the outside and put on a good outward appearance while underneath they are an entirely different animal.
As for 6 Day Dental, they do procedures that do not need to be done. Often! Very unethical practice, strong arming patients to do procedures that they do not want to do and do not need to be done; they have been compared to car salesmen. They do have daily, weekly and monthly quota's that have to be met. Ask any of the many doctors which left the practice.
Dr. Page if you didn't do this do the DNA testing and let this thing die, if you did do it (and/or any of the other things you are being accused of) admit to it and don't drag it out and put your family and friends through it. Do the right thing.
My prayers are with you and your family.

I have personally been under oral sedation twice, and I do not remember nothing.... If anyone removed her clothes from the washer/dryer, did her laundry etc... that leaves DNA. Also google side effects of Nitrous, they are the same as Halcion and also states "Women" tend to have sexual feelings/thoughts while under oral sedation and or Nitrous. We will have to wait to see hard evidence that this man is guilty.

Just because you were a previous patient of this man, and think the world of him because you have known him for so long, is not a justifyable reason to claim he's not guilty. It just means he had no interest in molesting you. Even perverts have certain qualities they look for in there victims. You clearly just didn't have "it". You also never really know everything about a person and what goes on behind closed doors and in the back of their twisted minds. When the truth comes out it may be tough to believe but he wouldn't be where he is now if "something" didn't put himself in the position he's in.

My question is can this Nitrous or Halcion produce DNA, per the CBS news cast the following was stated: Investigators say male DNA was located on both the woman's underwear and her bra. The dental assistant provided DNA, but Dr. Page refused.
I am not saying that this guy is guilty, that is up to God, Judge, & Jury. I am just saying if this guys DNA is on her Bra & Panties, thats all the evidence that is needed.
