The councilman is correct. With the runnaway costs of caring for illegal aliens plus the crime and the fact that wages are continualy being driven down it makes no sense that taxpayers must foot the bill. Has anyone seen the imigration laws in Mexico? They are Very Strict. We must secure our boarders and I for one support the councilman against the racist attacks from people who have their own agenda in supporting illegal aliens. I will be spending Major dollars in the City of Farmers
Branch this week to show my support for his ideas.

I am one of the people who left Farmers Branch because I was tired of being the only one who spoke English when I went to local businesses like Kroger. I support Mr. O'Hare.

I am so envious of Farmers Branch. I wish our Fort Worth Council men and Mayor would grow a pair and follow suit. As a taxpayer and law abiding citizen I'm sick and tired of illegals getting handouts. They are not entitled to rights - they are law breakers and should be treated as such.

Kudos to Mayor O'Hare. Alot of people forget that it has ALWAYS been illegal to hire undocumented workers. All he is doing is UPHOLDING THE LAW. If the goverment & law enforcement agencies had work harder at doing that over the last 25yrs we would not have the problem we have today. As someone who has worked in construction for over 20yrs, I've seen first hand how these illegal aliens have lowered our wages. In 1984 I was making $8.per hr as a painter's helper. I just left a job where I was only making $14. as a PROFESSIONAL painter & my boss was still hiring illegal hispanic helpers for $6.per hr. Although the illegal hispanics are a very large problem in our declining communities there are a lot of other illegal immigrants of varios nationalities. I think it is FANTASTIC THAT SOMEONE FINALLY HAS THE GUTS TO STAND UP & DO SOMETHING.

Unfortunately, the ordinances that the cities pass will not hold water. They need to be on a federal level. Contact your representatives in Washington and let them know that you support what Farmers Branch is trying to do and you want to see legislation passed that would allow them to set ordinances like this.

I am not a resident of Farmers Branch but I want Mr. O'Hare to know that myself and my family stand behind him 100%. I wish we had a councilman in Grand Prairie that would enforce tougher laws against illegals and make it illegal in Grand Prairie for businesses to hire, and for apartment complexes to lease to, illegal immigrants. Those caught would face fines. These are great proposals and I feel confident that as more citizens learn about them, the more they will be supported. We can't have illegals dictating to the citizens who are here legally. If you're here illegally...you have no rights! Go back to Mexico and begin the process of becoming legal. Until then...stay out of our country...stay out of our schools, our doctor's offices, our emergency rooms, etc... If you are illegal, you are taking services away from the people who are here legally. I live in Highland Village, Tx it's time to start enforcing our laws. People have to step up to the plate and do whats right.I see alot of people in my neighborhood using illegals, I think indivuals who hire illegals should be fined too. To the person who is trying to use statistics, here is a bit of info for you. In the city of Farmers Branch there are 280 child offenders and out of those 280,224 of them are AMERICANS. If you look at crimes committed in the US you will see that the majority are committed by AMERICANS, not illegals.
I am amazed at peoples ignorance, these people may be illegals but they work, and for less than minimum wage. I would like for those of you apposed to these people being here to go out and work the jobs they do for the money they get paid. Here's something else, if you people could get your heads out of your ass you will see that the children are not at fault and should not be punished for being children of immigrants. And as for those people, I am one of those people and educated at that. We are here to work not wait in line for government assistance as most of you do. I work for a living and do not expect anything from anyone. I am proud of who I am and where I come from. We are all here to survive and hope of living a better life not just for ourselves but for our children.

Way to go Maria! I totally agree w/you. I live in Farmers Branch and it's not as bad as O'Hare paints it out to be. He said our schools were going down well, I got news for him.....Our school district was actually recognized which means that our kids are not bringing the schools down but bringing them up. I think he really needs to get his facts right before he speaks. All these people post their opinions and really don't know what they're saying. I'm an American with Mexican decendants and I know how hard our people work for peanuts. But yet, we are able to live without asking for help. Everyone thinks that we are out getting help from the govt. The majority of the people getting that kind of help are AMERICANS! People, take a good look around you and see that the majority of the homeless are AMERICANS! They say they are homeless because we take their jobs, not true, we take the jobs they don't want to do. People hire our people because we do the least complaining. We are not the first to cry WORKMANS COMP after 2 weeks of working! I'm disgusted to know that there is still much racism in this day and age!

Millions of parents separated from their kids in Mexico to (have the American dream)... But if they bring them here and have to get sent back for being here illegally you think they sould get a break.
Your right thousands of Americans go to jail and they do not hold up there kids and say what about my kids as there main defense.
