My wife was involved in wreck Tuesday because of poor policy's.The person being chased was not a danger to the public until the Dallas County constables chased her.The chase went through a construction zone at 80 mph which is normaly 35 mph without work zone, could have been worse than it was.My wife has a broken hip, ribs and a lacerated liver. My famliy pet a one year old german shepard lost her life (crushed in the car).while my wife was waiting to be cut out of the car she had to see this and cant get the picture out of her head.chase policy must change before more people get killed.

Texas allows constables(cop wannabees) to perform traffic stops and issue citations. This is what should be in question instead of a pursuit policy. Constables should be serving legal paperwork and let the traffic concerns be handled by the police. I'm sure there is no lack of paperwork for you fellows to serve, now is there?

That is awful! I wish her a quick recovery & peaceful thoughts. God, that is completely horrible. Is anything being done, or is it even possible?

Terry , My prayers go out to your wife , you and your family .

Sideline . Constables are just as much and just as trained as regular Police . I applaud and welcome there efforts in getting as much crime off the streets as they can . As you should know there is plenty of it out there . I also appreciate there efforts in doing traffic stops and checking license and insurance of all the scum bas--rds that think they are above the law and drive without any financial responsibility .These criminals need to be in jail - right ?
As far as the police chases, officers dont make the policies they just do their jobs according to policy . I am sure they dont look for the chance to endanger lives any more than they all ready do .
If you dont like the chase policies go to your city council and get it changed .

Goodolddays,

I believe in getting the criminals off the street but i dont believe in killing people in the process..Them high speed chases are stupid! Half the time the people they are chasing are not even as much a danger to citizens as the cops chasing them..Cant they wait and find them later instead of killing innocent people on the hwy? I got caught in the middle of one once with my children in the car and liked to got ran off the hwy and i just think its crazy!!!

I agree with you . Something has got to change . Lets all work to get the policys changed and not blame police for being the bad guys .
