"story of Caisse d'Epargne's Oscar Pereiro claiming the yellow jersey during the race and finishing second in Paris. Pereiro had declared prior to that, at a gathering of athletes from different sports in the Alps: "I'm not going to ride for GC anymore, I'll lose half an hour on purpose and I'll go for a long ride away in a mountain stage, alone in front of the fans. That's the feeling I'd like to experience again before I conclude my career.""

Is Moreau the beneficiary of third-party shenanigans?

I may be much too much 'Tantalus' hereabove...

Read the story!

Informative and interesting that Pereiro would rather give up standings so as to receive 'un bon de sortie'(a gift certificate for a breakaway attempt), interesting also that Moreau would consider the same!

(to the great depression of the French MEDIA: HA HA HA HA HA HO ho ho LOL says Zipster etc)

That's it, Wayne... unfortunately, the best riders won't be on the peloton. I'll be in London on July 7th checking it out.

Favourites are (1) Vinokourov,(2) Kloden and (3) Moreau, as the Tour de Suisse and Dauphiné Liberé prooved. Outsiders like Valverde, Sastre, Kaschenkin,. I think it's obvious that Pereiro doesn't stand a chance as he's an average rider who had a break once in a lifetime. He'll try to be in the Top 10, which is an accomplishment anyways.

One thing is for sure... thanks to the ASO, UCI and even IOC (and especially, people with high ranks inside these organizations who should know when to talk, what to say and how to stay quiet), these coming years will have the poorest TdF races ever...

I'll be watching out for your banner tribute to Jan Ullrich.

Cheers
