Sorry Chris, but that line was made famous by Clark Gable in the 1939 movie version of GWTW.

You can check it out yourself....go to the Internet Movie Data Base ( IMDb ) and search for GWTW....all the quotes are there.

Glad you guys sorted that out. Now to more impoartant matters. Ivan Basso fine tuned his TT bike in a wind tunnel in California. They stated that he has a pretty good form on the TT bike already.

I think we can look forward to good things from Ivan this season. Maybe Discovery will be on the podium again.

Basso WILL win the tour and the giro, getting the double that was stolen from him last year. Maybe Levi can come second giving Discovery a first and second in the tour.

I agree that Basso may win the Giro/Tour double. Quiz: Who was the last man to win the Tour/Giro in the same year? Hint: Festina. Where I disagree is Levi, he does good for a while then bonks on a hard mountain stage. Levi does not have the durability to win a TdF, and a podium place is highly questionable. If Levi is the only American hope for the 2007 TdF, then I probably won't watch it this year. Serves ya right ASO!

If tdf lets ALL the strong riders race this year, then it will be a great race to watch, regardless of the rider's nationality.

I'm hoping for a race with epic rides and battles between riders/teams. It would not be worth my time otherwise!

OK Jon, So you won't watch ANY sport unless an American wins it? If so, how weird. Maybe not though, as when I was in Seattle when the last Olympics were on, the only sport shown was when an American won. Please spare me, don't say something stupid like "We win 'em all

You are a extremely funny person Athos, or Chris, or whomever you call yourself this week. You stooges, Will who has returned? and Raymond who refuses to comment anymore, are xenophobic Europeans who bore me. But you are right American television spends far too much time on American athletes, and for this reason I do not wish to be sickened by the mention of Leipheimer or Discovery Channel every two seconds! Give me Landis and I will be happy to watch the Tour de Farce, a race I loved, before the scandal. And for your information, American racers have won the tour 11 times, out of 100 years, so we do not win them all. Get real.

The TDF is a great race to watch no matter who is riding and racing. And Chris, you are right about US television showing sporting events from the Olympics only when an American wins and that pisses off many American fans.

Hell, we never even saw a European cycling race until Greg Lemonde was racing over there on ESPN. And the stupid America's Cub (sailing) was given prime time viewing, so we had to watch the TDF at 11:00PM. Thank God that VERSUS (formerly OLN) came along and took over the cycling coverage.

Now thanks to Lance Armstrong and other Americans racing in Europe, we now get to see more of the racing there besides the TDF. I recently emailed them asking when they will cover the Giro I'talia. Guess I'm going to have to email them that one every week till they finally begin covering it.
