EXCERPT from L'Equipe:

«Ce supplément d'analyse a été requis par l'UCI suite à la communication du laboratoire de Rome d'une valeur de testostérone supérieure à la norme réglementaire imposant des examens complémentaires. Le déroulement de ce cas démontre qu'il est indispensable d'attendre la clôture des investigations avant de formuler des conclusions», a ajouté l'UCI.

ZENtranslates:
This supplementary analysis was requested by the UCI, following the communication from the Roman laboratory of a testosterone value higher than the regulatory norm, which imposes the need for complementary testing.(emphasis ZENadded) THE PATH OF THIS CASE DEMONSTRATES THAT IT IS INDESPENSABLE TO AWAIT THE CLOSURE OF THE INVESTIGATIONS PRIOR TO FORMULATING ANY CONCLUSIONS, added the UCI.

Why don't YOU LISTEN, l'EQUIPE?

SALES DOWN AGAIN?

(NB: their website shows no 'J'ACCUSE' article against MAYO, but does have this one based on UCI follow-up report!)

Zensleuth,

A mission, should you choose to accept it--find out the delta units for the metabolite(s) on the Mayo mass spec tests. I think everyone here and the landis legal team would love to know what the Roman lab thought...

I smell a devil ... it has raised its head and I can now see it. I recognise it. It has visited Floyd Landis and others. We must rid all sports of this one ...

Hi Todd,

I wrote to 'B', who lives north of Milan, but in a rosé-crazed communiqué, I asked about 'Basso'... didn't realize my error until the following morning.

And in the meantime,'B' fell with only 400m to go in a 192km race...thinks he's fractured a typing-finger or two (or three)...

So we're still waiting... but not sure that Mayo's data would be made public...

I'm getting a little tired of 'regrets': UCI has the power to BUST and DESTROY those who leak (aka 'premature publication of this news.') private, CONFIDENTIAL medical information.

UCI: DO YOUR JOB!

Read between THESE lines:

"Petacchi and Piepoli have special TUE (therapeutic use exemption) certificates that means they can use medicines containing Salbutamol but this only allows levels of up to 1000ng/ml in anti-doping tests. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, both riders had levels higher than the limit. As a result their samples have also been sent to Barcelona for extra tests that can discover if they took the drug with an inhaler or with an illegal injection."

Hint: Rome lab not capable of performing a test that CAN BE PERFORMED in Spain?

What about WADA-TESTING-UNIFORMITY????

Let's get WADA to assert PROOF of 'LAB uniformity'(wILL, not interested in that?).

Let's otherwise FORCE WADA to rate the LABS:

MADRID OBVIOUSLY gets a higher grade than either Rome or LNDD (RIP: département des "anals").

So is Madrid the equivalent of Lausanne, Montreal, UCLA?

(Maybe I can start being an 'agent' for high-priced, competent TECHNICIANS, who'll be traded from 'team to team'???)

Very interesting to see that there's such a difference between all the so called acredited WADA labs.

Wonder why Will isn't here defending WADA and the various labs!

Cheers All
