Wow, this is a quite a powerful story, indeed. But why does the Times Herald fail to make mention of Derrick O'Keefe, the caring and gifted artist who was largely responsible for the restoration of this mural? On his own, Mr. O'Keefe got members of the community involved and spent a considerable sum of his own money on this project while certain city leaders pocketed grant monies and public funds meant to go toward projects such as this. Some excessively overpaid Vallejo city politicos are quick to take credit for the success of this mural restoration project and other community beautification achievements but they always fail to give credit where credit is truly due. That is shameful! Thank you Derrick O'Keefe for your tireless efforts to make Vallejo a more aesthetic community for all. V-Town needs more citizens like you.

Waist of tax payers money. Murals are not going to solve anything.

Please do something more constructive.

Oh Casual Observer, just stay in Oakland & peddle your crack and crack hoes on International Blvd. You are obviously nothing but a sleazy pimp. The Vallejo mural projects represent a small yet positive step on a long journey toward the improvement of Vallejo. We will get there. Oakland should give it a try.

Btw Casual Observer: it's spelled "WASTE" not "waist." You've been hitting that pipe way too much. CRACK IS WHACK! Whitney said so!
